SBI PO Mains 2018 Exam Analysis August 04, 2018



All those who qualified the Prelims of SBI PO 2018, appeared for the Main exam today. All the other sections, except the English Language section, were available bilingually, that is, in both English and Hindi. There was a negative marking of one-fourth marks assigned to that question for every incorrect answer.

 

SBI PO Main Exam 2018 was divided into two parts - Objective Test and Descriptive Test.

Objective Test was an objective online test consisting of 155 questions, which had to be answered in 180 minutes.

The sets of Analytical Reasoning were moderate and lengthy. Level of difficulty of this section was moderate to difficult. There were no questions from Computer Aptitude and there were no questions of syllogism.

The DI sets were calculation based and time consuming. The overall difficulty level of this section was moderate to difficult.

 

General/Economy/Banking Awareness:
The overall difficulty level of this section was easy to moderate. Most of the questions were from Government Schemes, Banking Awareness, Financial Awareness, Static GK and Current Affairs of last 3-4 months. Current Affairs dominated the section.

Descriptive Test was a descriptive online test consisting of two writing tasks (Essay & Letter), which had to be completed in 30 minutes.

 

Essay writing (150 words):

1 essay with a choice of 2 topics (Memory based):
1. Monsoon wreaks havoc in many Indian states. Write measures or steps that can be taken to minimize the damage.
2. In many schools and colleges, students are given many projects and assignments related to project although there is no research paper published as compared to the number of teachers and students. Write your views on it.

Letter writing (150 words):
1 letter with a choice of 2 topics (Memory based):

1.You transfer some amount of money to your friend using UPI. Your friend is an account holder of a cooperative bank but the transaction fails as there is no facility of UPI in the cooperative bank. Write a letter to the General Manager of the same bank to add this facility so that customers are benefitted. Also, write some benefits of using UPI.
2.These days, many vegetables and fruits are injected to keep them fresh for long. This is harmful for our health. Write a letter to the concerned authorities regarding the same.
