State Bank of India Examination

State Bank of India, the biggest bank in the nation is also among the biggest recruiter when it comes to banking sector. CRPD, Central Recruitment and Promotion Department, in SBI holds the responsibility of the complete recruitment process for State Bank of India and for Associate Group of State Bank of India. Although the process, selection procedure, scheme of examination remains the same for both, still two different recruitment processes are done for State Bank of India and Associate Group of State Bank of India.

CRPD, SBI recruits at various levels among which the Post of Probationary Officer is the most sought job. The recruitment is done at all India level, which means a finally recruited candidate may be posted to any location in India.

The recruitment process includes three stages, which are as follows -
1. Preliminary Examination  -      An online objective test having 100 questions to be done in 1 hour.
2. Main Examination             -      An online objective test having 200 questions to be done in 2 hours.
3. Interview                           -     10-20 minutes interaction with a panel having 4-5 members, having a weightage of 100 marks.

The preliminary examination is only qualifying in nature, which means a candidate scoring greater than or equal to the cut off marks for each section and over all is eligible for appearing into main examination. Besides that it also means that these marks are not considered while creating the final merit list.

Candidates qualifying in the preliminary examination will have to write the main examination, i.e. stage II. This will be followed by a descriptive online test of 30 minutes duration, carrying 25 marks, which is an English Language test. Candidates clearing the main examination will be called for the Interview.
