UPSC CSAT 2023, also known as General Studies Paper 2, had a total of 80 questions based on Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Verbal Ability.
There were 43 questions in quantitative ability, 26 in the verbal section and 11 in the reasoning section. The overall difficulty level of CSAT 2023 was difficult.
The questions were lengthier and more statement-based in comparison to previous years, and required a good conceptual understanding.
The majority of the questions of the quantitative ability section were in the moderate to difficult category, thus making the overall difficulty level of this section moderate to difficult. More than half of the questions in the paper were from the quantitative ability section.
The reasoning section had almost an equal distribution of questions in the easy, moderate and difficult categories- thus making the overall difficulty level moderate.
The verbal ability section had 10 questions that could be categorized as easy, and the rest of them fell into the moderate to difficult category- thus making the overall difficulty moderate to difficult. Passages were based on the usual UPSC core topics.
