IIFT 2022 Paper pattern was the same as that of IIFT 2020 including the number of questions and the marking scheme.
Overall, the VARC section was of easy to moderate level of difficulty. The RCs were similar as compared to last year RCs and thus, the section was more time consuming.
The LRDI section was easy in terms of LOD as compared to last year. DI was on the easier side. QA, as always, was a lengthy and difficult section as compared to last year’s QA section.
Like past years, IIFT 2022 too had the match-the-following question in both GK and VARC. These were easy and should definitely have been attempted.
Section | Name | No. of Questions | Marks/Q | Max marks | Cut-offs (for General) |
Section 1 | Reading Comprehension & Verbal Ability | 35 | 3 | 105 | 30 |
Section 2 | Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation | 30 | 3 | 90 | 18 |
Section 3 | Quantitative Analysis | 25 | 3 | 75 | 12 |
Section 4 | General Awareness | 20 | 1.5 | 30 | 6 |
Total | 110 | 300 | Overall for boys: 120 Overall for Girls - 115 NC OBC boys - 108 NC OBC girls - 103 SC/ST/PWD - 88 SC/ST/PWD girls - 85 |
The Quantitative Aptitude section of IIFT 2022 was lengthy as always and your performance in this section depended on how much time you decided to spend on this section. If you gave yourself about 25 minutes for this section then around 10-12 questions with an 85% accuracy was possible, and if 35 minutes were spent on QA then around 15-16+ questions with a similar accuracy were possible. Ideally, 35 minutes should have been spent in this section with 5 minutes extra either in this section or VARC.

Good Attempt - 15-16+ questions
Cutoff ~ 12+ marks
The Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension section was of moderate LOD this year. The 35 questions in this section comprised 16 questions on RCs and the remaining 19 questions from the various topics of Verbal Ability.
A good way to attempt the paper would have been to attempt all 10-12 factual questions in the RCs or to leave the 1 lengthy RC passage which required a lot of scrolling. 13-14 questions in RCs should have been solved as they were easy (like normal IIFT RC questions). Most of these questions were factual in nature. 4-5 questions were inferential in nature but were easily solvable. When it comes to Verbal Ability, around 12-13 questions could have been solved easily without much difficulty. However, if VARC is your strength, you could have attempted more (~30+ questions).
Ideally 35 minutes should have been spent in this section with 5 minutes extra being spent either in this section or the QA section.
