SNAP 2024: Preparation Tips

  • Point of Focus: You need to take it easy and slow, one subject at a time. Rushing into complex problems right from the start could prove to be troublesome in building a strong foundation. Study the basics of important concepts with some easy-to-do examples in the initial phase of your preparation.
  • Review the syllabus and exam pattern: Much like any other entrance exam, SNAP requires you to get a good understanding of the syllabus and exam pattern to identify the amount of preparation and strategy required.
  • Proper understanding of the questions: To secure a high score in SNAP, you need to keep in mind that every answer hides deep within the question itself. So, you should devote more time to understanding how each question has been constructed. One way of doing that is to scan the questions thoroughly to identify the major elements.
  • Take regular mocks: Mocks are not only meant for effective time management but also reveal how much mastery you have gained over a concept. Analyzing mocks will also help you identify the areas where you need to work on. Start with 1-2 mocks every week, 4-5 mocks every fortnight; and gradually increase the pace to 3-4 mocks per week and 7-8 mocks per fortnight.
  • Practice last 5 years’ SNAP papers: SNAP is known for surprising test-takers every year. Hence, it is advisable that during the final months before the exam, attempt the previous years’ test papers to gauge your progress.

Writing a Mock test is a very important part of preparing for any MBA entrance exam, offering full-length, sectional, or topic-wise options to strengthen conceptual understanding, and improve problem-solving skills. Analyzing the solutions provided after the tests helps in identifying your strengths and weaknesses. Engaging in regular practice can familiarize you with the test structure, timing, and types of questions. Even without formal classroom study, consistent practice followed by analysis can lead to success in the actual SNAP exam.
