Who Is Eligible Under Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026
Candidates who meet the conditions provided by JAP can take admission under it. There are two eligibility:
- Candidates appearing for the CAT 2025 and securing a valid score and meeting a minimum percentile cut-off of the participating IIMs are eligible.
- A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
For any change, we recommend that you check the official website of the institute. While the admission is by a joint process, the cut-offs are usually decided by the IIMs themselves.

Why Is JAP Important For MBA 2026
MBA form filling for IIMs is not an easy process. However, with JAP, the hassle of checking multiple eligibility criteria and deadlines has been eliminated. Now, the candidates can take advantage of the JAP 2026.
Single Process for Multiple IIMs:
JAP allows candidates to appear for a single selection round (Personal Interview, Written Ability Test, etc.) that is considered by multiple IIMs, saving time and effort.
Centralised Evaluation:
Instead of attending interviews at each IIM separately, JAP uses a common evaluation framework, ensuring uniformity and fairness in the selection process.
Reduces Overlap & Stress:
It eliminates the need to travel to different campuses or attend several interviews on different dates, making the process more efficient and less stressful.
Higher Chances of Selection:
Since the same performance is shared with multiple IIMs, candidates have better chances of getting shortlisted by one or more institutes through a single effort.
