What is CUET exam? What will be the CUET syllabus?
The entire UG admission landscape of India was revamped with the introduction of CUET in 2022. As the name suggests, the CUET is a Common University Entrance Test for UG admissions to 250+ participating universities (including 45 central university) in it. The CUET is a national-level UG entrance carnival being conducted by the National Test Agency (NTA). The organisation (NTA) was established to achieve the AIM of “one India, one exam”.
CUET gives a common platform and equitable opportunity to candidates from all across the country, particularly those from rural and other remote locations, and aids in the establishment of greater connections with universities and admission opportunity. Moreover, CUET will also help in doing away with the irregular marking scheme practiced by different Boards (Class XII), as now the UG admissions will be solely based on the CUET score of the candidates and not the class XII Board marks.
Broads Feature of CUET (UG) are as follow
> Mode of the Test: Online & Computer Based Test (CBT).
> Test Pattern: Objective Type with Multiple Choice Based Questions.
> Medium: 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).
> Registration: Registration will be online https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/
CUET (UG) Syllabus
> Language: Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages – Factual, Literary and Narrative), Literary Aptitude, Grammar, and Vocabulary.
> Domain Subject: As per the entire NCERT Class 12 syllabus.
> General Test: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General & Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts, arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/statistics), Logical and Analytical Reasoning, etc.
