The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, was established in 1973. Being among the oldest Indian management schools to come about, it also stands as one of the top B-schools of Asia. IIM Bangalore functions under the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, and it is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. Situated at Bannerghatta Road in South Bangalore, Karnataka, the campus area is roughly around 110 acres with vast academic blocks. Programmes offered

IIM Bangalore offers different kinds of Postgraduate and doctoral programmes. CAT, GMAT and GRE scores are accepted for admissions to Post Graduate courses at IIM-B. IIM B offers a variety of management programmes across several domains, including their flagship PGP program. The PGP program is a full-fledged degree programme of 2 years of two years. Candidates need to undergo a management entrance I.e CAT (Common Admission Test) to secure their spot and pursue the programs. The institute is consistently ranked among the best B-Schools in India as per QS World University Rankings and Financial Times.

Other than the PGP program, the institute offers Post Graduate, Doctoral and Executive Education programmes. IIM Bangalore also offers a one-year full time MBA Program for students. IIM Bangalore Shortlisting Process

For Post-graduation programs, graduation in any stream with 50% marks and for doctoral programs, post-graduation in relevant streams are the basic eligibility criteria. IIM-B also has industrial tie ups with several leading organizations in the interest of women entrepreneurship.

shortlisting procedure  is mainly based on the  CAT percentile  that a candidate has achieved followed by a  GD (Group Discussion) PI (Personal Interview),  and  WAT (Written Ability Test). However, for the flagship program (MBA), the criteria have been altered. The  CAT cutoff has been reduced by 5% for each social category. For overseas candidates seeking admission in PGP or PGPBA, the entry route is based on their  GMAT score. For Executive programmes, candidates should have either a valid  GMAT or GRE score

IIM Bangalore Admission Process

Admission Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree with a 50% (minimum) or an equivalent CGPA (45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category).
  • Candidates are expected to have appeared CAT with a minimum score percentile for the consideration of admission.
  • The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification must be of three years minimum after the completion of higher secondary education.
  • If the candidate holds grades/CGPA instead of percentage marks, the equivalence is based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained from. If the certification of the equivalence is unavailable from the desired university, the equivalence is certified by IIM Bangalore.
  • Undergraduates in their final year/ awaiting the final results are eligible to apply for admissions. However, candidates are required to present a certificate from the current university/institute’s head determining/confirming the same on his or her behalf.
  • Should the candidate get selected for admission, he/she is expected to submit the official confirmation certificate from the current undergraduate university/institute latest by June 30, 2019.
  • Candidates who are offered admission are supposed to submit their mark-sheet and certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2019, by December 31, 2019.

  1. Unmaad

Unmaad is the annual cultural festival presented by the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. It lasts for three days and includes events like dramatics, music performances, dances, quizzes, debates, street plays, professional concerts, and fashion shows. The event has been backed by several prominent artists like Amit Trivedi, Sunidhi Chauhan, Farhan Akhtar, Raghu Dixit, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Zakir Khan, Black Sabbath, and so on.

IIMB is one the few WIFI enabled institutes in the country.
