About IIFT Delhi

IIFT was established in 1963 as a training and research body to professionalise India's foreign trade sector. Over six decades, it has grown into a full-fledged Deemed University with four campuses, Delhi, Kolkata, Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), and GIFT City (Gujarat). The Delhi campus, located in the Qutab Institutional Area, is the main campus and hosts IIFT's flagship MBA (IB) programme, doctoral programme, and research operations. IIFT Delhi also serves as the training institute for probationary officers of the Indian Trade Service, making it unique among Indian management institutions in its direct policy-academic linkage with the Government of India. MBA (IB) Weekend

Bachelor's degree with 50%+ marks from a recognised university

Valid GMAT or CAT score required. Relevant work experience preferred.

IIFT Delhi Admission Process 2026-28

The following admission process is based as per official website. The process runs in two stages.

Important change for 2026-28 vs 2025-27: (1) CAT score weightage at Stage 1 reduced from 98 to 90 points. (2) Work Experience introduced at Stage 1 with 5-point weightage. (3) Gender Diversity weightage at Stage 1 increased from 2 to 5 points.

Stage 1: Shortlisting for GD & PI

Candidates are shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personal Interview based on a composite Stage 1 score out of 100. Candidates must also meet prescribed sectional CAT cutoffs. Candidates who do not meet sectional cutoffs are not shortlisted, regardless of their overall score.

No, IIFT discontinued its separate entrance examination starting from the 2024-25 batch. Admission to MBA (IB) and MBA (BA) full-time programmes is now based exclusively on CAT scores, followed by GD, WAT, and PI.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years' duration from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD). Final-year students may apply. There is no age limit. A valid CAT score is mandatory.
