IIM Bangalore, commonly referred to as IIMB is one of the oldest premier management schools in India. Established in 1973, it offers specialized programs and courses in MBA/PGP/EMBA. As per the NIRF rankings 2023, it sits at number 2. The programmes offered by IIM Bangalore are comprised of certificates, post-graduate and PhD in management. Placement facilities exist for the students in IIM B. QS World University of Ranking by Subject ranked IIM Bangalore as the 32nd among the top 50 universities in the global platform in 2024.

The MBA course at IIM Bangalore has a duration of 2 years, and the institute accepts students who scored more than 85 percentile in CAT. IIM Bangalore: Admission Process

The admission process at IIM Bangalore for the PGDM (2023-25) will be carried out in 3 stages.

Round 1: Preliminary Screening

Candidates who clear the CAT cut-off get screened based on a composite score (CS) which would compose of an academic rating score (AR) (includes 10th marks, 12th marks, & work experience) & a normalized overall CAT score.

Round 2: Shortlisting for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI)

The best candidates with exemplary academic records and CAT scores from varied academic backgrounds get shortlisted for the PI round, based on their Composite Score.

Round 3: Final Selection

At this stage, candidates separately get shortlisted across each category (General/ SC/ ST/ NC-OBC/ PwD) based on their Final Composite Scores (FCS).


IIM Bangalore: CAT Cutoff Percentile (As per CAT 2023)

IIM Bangalore cut off for PG course MBA/ PGDM(4 courses)is based on CAT scores. The institute releases two types of CAT cutoffs, namely the Qualifying CAT cutoff and the Final CAT cutoff. Securing a minimum qualifying cutoff just means that the candidate is eligible for the next steps in the admission procedure. 

Also, IIM Bangalore final CAT cutoff is always higher than the qualifying cutoff. The Qualifying cutoffs for IIMs mostly remain the same every year. For getting admissions to IIM Bangalore in 2024, the Qualifying CAT cutoff is set at 85 Percentile, while the sectional cutoffs are established between 80 Percentile and 75 Percentile for the General category candidates.
