Established in 1949, Xavier School of Management, or simply XLRI is a private business institute operated by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. XLRI Jamshedpur is considered the oldest business institute in the nation. However, the institute is slowly expanding as the society began a new campus in Jhajjar, Delhi, in 2020.

Over the years, XLRI has launched various management-focused programs including the Human Resource Management program, which was initially called the Program in Industrial Relations and Welfare. In 1965, a three-year, evening program in Business Management was introduced, followed by a two-year, full-time program in Business Management in 1968. For working executives, various short-term and long-term courses were also introduced.

XLRI Jamshedpur Admission Process

For XLRI admission, aspirants are needed to apply online with their GMAT/ GRE/ XAT scores. Aspirants can also apply for more than one course. XLRI admission process comprises the application process, shortlisting of students, group discussions & personal interview process, and finally, the announcement of the result. Given below is the admission process for XLRI:

Phase 1: Application Process

Aspirants can only apply to the institute through XAT. For this, check the XAT website and click on “Register“ and fill out all the required information. After that, you can verify your email by clicking on the link and proceeding to finish the application process. Do upload all the required documents and then click on “Submit”. Lastly, proceed to pay the application amount of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 200 per additional program of XLRI.

Phase 2: Shortlisting of aspirants for GD & PI

As per the information given in the application form and XAT scores, the institute will shortlist the aspirants for GD (group discussion) and PI (personal interview) rounds. Aside from the scores obtained through XAT, XLRI also considers aspirants with suitable work experience, excellent academic performance, and extracurricular activities while the final list is being prepared.

Phase 3: Result announcement for admission at XILR

The institute will discharge the merit list of selected candidates based on the XAT scores, GD and PI performance, and other parameters. Students whose names are on the merit list are required to proceed with the admission and pay all the necessary amounts before the allotted time frame.
