How to Check XLRI Final Result 2026

Unlike many B-schools that publish public PDFs, XLRI requires an individual login to view your result. Your admission status is visible only to you via the candidate portal. Follow these steps:

  1.     Visit the official website: xlri.ac.in
  2.     Navigate to the Admissions 2026 section on the homepage.
  3.     Click on the ‘Final Result / Admission Result 2026’ link.
  4.     You will be redirected to the XLRI candidate login page.
  5.     Enter your Application ID and registered email or password.
  6.     Your result status will be displayed on screen.
  7.     Simultaneously, check your registered email inbox for an official communication from the XLRI Admissions Office.

Important: XLRI does not display your rank or composite score in the result. Only your qualifying status (Selected / Waitlisted / Not Selected) is shown. Waitlisted candidates will also be able to see their waitlist number (e.g., WL-1, WL-50) and download the waitlist letter from the website.

XLRI Merit List 2026

The XLRI merit list 2026 is a confidential, score-based ranking for each programme. The full list is not made public; each candidate can only view their own status through the portal.

What the Merit List Includes

Based on the composite score, candidates are placed in one of three categories:

  •    Selected (Direct Offer): Top-ranked candidates for each programme who receive an admission offer and must confirm by paying the acceptance fee.
  •    Waitlisted: Candidates who are admissible but receive seats only if higher-ranked candidates decline or fail to pay fees. Each waitlisted candidate is assigned a numbered position (WL-1, WL-2, etc.).
  •   Not Selected: Candidates who do not meet the final cut-off for that cycle.

XLRI Waitlist Movement 2026 – What to Expect

Being on the XLRI waitlist is not the end of the road. In past cycles, the waitlist at XLRI Jamshedpur has moved significantly, especially for the PGDM BM and HRM programmes.

XLRI does not officially disclose category-wise waitlist movement data. However, based on the 2025–26 admission cycle estimates, it was noted that the waitlist movement ranged from 135 to 160 positions for PGDM in business management and 130 to 230 positions in PGDM Human Resource Management (HRM). These data are estimated from previous year trends.

Why the Waitlist Moves

  •   Selected candidates at XLRI may also hold offers from IIMs and other top B-schools. Many decline the XLRI offer to join their preferred institution.
  •  Candidates who fail to pay the acceptance fee within the deadline automatically forfeit their seat, which then opens up for the waitlist.
  •  The waitlist process typically runs from May through June 2026.

What Waitlisted Candidates Should Do

  •       Log in to the XLRI portal every few days to check if your status has changed from ‘Waitlisted’ to ‘Selected.’
  •       Keep your registered email alerts active.
  •       If asked to pay an indicative fee to keep your waitlist slot active, pay it on time. Missing this deadline typically means your slot is invalidated.
  •       Arrange your finances or education loan in advance so you can pay the full admission fee quickly if a conversion happens.
  •       Keep backup options ready.

  •       Strengthen your academic or professional profile over the next 12 months.
  •       Explore other top B-schools with strong final placements that are still accepting applications.
