No surprises in terms of sections this time around. Overall the exam was difficult compared to IIFT 2017.
Difficulty level of General Awareness (GA) was same as last year. English Usage (EU) and Reading Comprehension (RC) was difficult, a very good performance in RC would be attempting 4 passages.
Quantitative Ability (QA) and Logical Reasoning (LR) were more difficult compared to last year. Data Interpretation (DI) being the only easy section of them all.
Over all, cut-off is expected to go down by 5-6 marks.Cut-offs for General 29-31 and 25 for OBC, SC and ST respectively.
IIFT released the Admit Card on 16th November 2018, on its official website. The candidates are required to carry a printout of the Admit card (Black & White/Colored) and proof of identification (Aadhar Card/Driving Licence/ Voter I-Card/Pan Card/Passport) to the exam venue. Candidates need to carry their own stationary i.e. HB Pencils, Eraser, Sharpener, and Ball-Point Pen. The reporting time for the exam is 9 am. In case, you have not downloaded your admit card click here.
IIFT threw a curve ball last year by segregating the former 4 sections into 6 separate sections: General awareness, English Usage, Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Data interpretation, and Quantitative Aptitude. It is essential to read the instructions before attempting the paper. There is differential marking across sections with no sectional time limit. It also has a variable number of total questions ranging from 113 to 125.
