SNAP Cutoff 2026: Expected Percentiles for Top B-Schools

Updated on 23rd September 2026 | 11:45 pm | #SNAPcutoff2026

SNAP 2026 Cutoff: The SNAP cutoff is the minimum overall SNAP percentile a candidate needs to be shortlisted for the Group Exercise and Personal Interaction (GE-PI) round of a Symbiosis institute. Each institute calculates this cutoff separately for every programme, so it differs across the 17 Symbiosis institutes that admit through SNAP.

The expected SNAP 2026 cutoff is 98+ percentile for SIBM Pune and 97+ for SCMHRD Pune, while institutes such as SIIB Pune and SIBM Bangalore are expected at around 92 and 90. However, clearing the cutoff does not guarantee admission, because the final merit list gives the SNAP score 50 marks, Group Exercise 10 marks and Personal Interaction 40 marks.

After the SNAP exam on December 13, 19 and 26, 2026, candidates look at the cutoff lists to see which Symbiosis institutes their score can reach. SIU counts your highest score across up to three attempts, with no normalisation between them, and announces the result on January 12, 2027. Your SNAP percentile, along with your GE-PI performance, decides the call and the final seat, so it helps to know your target institute's cutoff before you sit the test.

What Is a SNAP Cutoff?

A SNAP cutoff is the minimum SNAP percentile a candidate needs for a Symbiosis institute to shortlist them for the next selection stage. Each institute calculates its cutoff separately for every programme, and it moves every year with paper difficulty, applicant numbers and seat availability.

The cutoff works as a gate. Clear it, and you move to the Group Exercise and Personal Interaction (GE-PI) round of that programme. Miss it, and the application stops there, however strong your profile is. One SNAP percentile can shortlist you for more than one programme, and you then attend the GE-PI for each separately.

SNAP Previous Year Cutoff: Marks Trend (2020 to 2024)

Factors That Can Move the SNAP 2026 Cutoff

How to Turn a Percentile Target Into a Marks Target

Suppose you target SIBM Pune, which is expected to need 98+ percentile. That maps to roughly 40 to 44 net correct answers out of 60. Follow these steps:

  1. Pick your target institute and its cutoff. For SIBM Pune, that is 98+.
  2. Add a safety margin. Aim two to three marks above the top of your range, so a tough session does not sink you. Target 46 to 47.
  3. Work out attempts and accuracy. Net marks = correct answers − (0.25 × wrong answers). For example, 48 correct and 8 wrong gives 48 − 2 = 46. That means attempting 56 of 60 questions at about 86% accuracy.
  4. Test it in mocks. Take timed full-length tests with the new four-section pattern and track your net score, not your raw score.

How Is the SNAP Percentile Calculated?

SIU converts your net score into a percentile and uses your highest score for the final percentile if you take more than one test. Scores are not normalised across attempts. Instead, SIU says the question papers are normalised for difficulty across all three tests, so no session gives an advantage.

  1. Count your correct answers and wrong answers across all four sections.
  2. Compute your net score: correct answers − (0.25 × wrong answers).
  3. If you take more than one test, SIU picks your highest score for the final percentile.
  4. SIU announces the result on January 12, 2027, and your scorecard shows your percentile.

SIU treats published scores as final, with no appeal or revaluation, so accuracy on exam day matters.

Conclusion

The SNAP cutoff 2026 will most likely sit at or above recent levels for the top institutes: 98+ percentile for SIBM Pune, 97+ for SCMHRD Pune, and lower bands for the remaining Symbiosis institutes. Aim for 40 to 44 net correct answers to stay in contention for the top two, and build a margin above your target range.

Frequently Asked Questions

The expected SNAP 2026 cutoff for SIBM Pune is 98+ percentile. In marks, that usually means roughly 40 to 44 net correct answers out of 60 or more, depending on paper difficulty.

The expected SNAP 2026 cutoff for SCMHRD Pune is 97+ percentile. The exact figure moves with paper difficulty and application volume, so aim a point or two above it.

Between SNAP 2020 and SNAP 2024, a 97 percentile needed 34.5 to 43.5 net correct answers out of 60. The 2024 figure was 39.5. Expect roughly 38 to 42 net correct answers for a 97 percentile in SNAP 2026.

Yes. SNAP awards 1 mark for each correct answer and deducts 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. This applies to all four sections, including the new Ethics, Morality and Values section.

No. College cutoffs change every year with paper difficulty, the number of applicants and seat availability. Use expected ranges as a planning guide and aim for a percentile a few points above your target institute's cutoff.

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will declare the SNAP 2026 result on January 12, 2027, on the official website snaptest.org. The exam runs on December 13, 19 and 26, 2026.

You can take SNAP up to three times in the 2026 cycle, once in each session on December 13, 19 and 26. SIU considers your best score for admission. Each attempt has a separate fee of Rs 2,550 plus taxes.

The paper still has 60 questions and 60 marks, so the scale of the cutoff stays the same. Because the section is new and has no past papers, scoring patterns are uncertain, and percentile cutoffs could shift by a point or two either way.
