Pandit Deendayal Energy University (Recognised by UGC), formerly known as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), is a prominent institution established in Gandhinagar by the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited (GSPC). Originally, the Management School was known as the Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar (IPMG), founded in 2006 by the Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI), a trust and society established by GSPC. In 2007, when PDPU was established, IPMG became a constituent of the university and was rebranded as the School of Petroleum Management (SPM). In 2021, the university underwent a name change to Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), leading to the School of Petroleum Management being rechristened as the "School of Management (SoM)."
