The University of Delhi (DU) has officially announced the criteria for the tiebreaker scenario. The university has announced that if there is a tie between the CUET score of two or more students applying for the same course and college, their Board marks will be considered. Initially, the best of 3 and the best of 4 and 5 will be considered. If a tie remains, the older student will get the seat. In this way, even the student's age is indirectly considered in the CUET eligibility criteria for DU. Students are therefore advised to focus equally on their Board preparation along with the CUET 2025 and score well in both exams.
CUET is an entrance exam for admissions to Undergraduate courses in 250+ universities, including 44+ central universities. Each participating university (central) must follow standard norms of the CUET reservation policy set by the Government of India concerning intake capacity. No changes are expected in the CUET eligibility criteria. It will remain the same as the previous year, and the same has been briefly discussed above.
Any student who has passed the class 12 Board exam with 50% marks (5% relaxation for category students) or is appearing for the same is eligible and may apply for the CUET 2025 (UG) exam.
DU and some other universities will consider the class 12 marks of the students to decide the tie-breaker. If there is a tie between two or more students with the same CUET score and applying for the same course and college, their class 12 marks (best of 3, 4, & 5 subsequently) will be considered. Still, a tie remains; the older student will get the seat.
Students appear for various numbers of subjects in CUET (3, 4, 5, or 6). The good score also varies based on the number of subjects a student has appeared in. Generally, with a score above 90% in CUET 2025, students will have a fair chance of getting admission to any of the top participating universities of CUET 2025.
