Frequently Asked Questions

IPMAT Indore is considered the toughest of the three IPM entrance exams. In 2025, only 818 candidates were shortlisted for PI from approximately 16,357 who scored positive across all sections — and from those 818, only 150 were finally admitted. Preparation depth and section-wise strategy, especially in Verbal Ability, are decisive.

Class 12 marks do not factor into IIM Indore's Composite Score for final selection. Selection is based 65% on IPMAT score and 35% on PI. However, candidates must have cleared Class XII with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwD) to be eligible to apply.

It is advisable to take both exams — they have separate applications, different exam patterns, and different selection processes. A single IPMAT Indore score also opens admissions at 10+ other institutions, making it the higher-leverage exam to prioritise.

Successful completion of all five years awards a Bachelor of Arts (Foundations of Management) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) under the Dual Degree Programme. Students who exit after Year 3 receive only the BA degree.
