The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) is an autonomous public business school located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Established in 1996, IIM Indore is the sixth institution in the Indian Institute of Management family of business schools.
Launched by IIM Indore in 2011, the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) is the first of its kind in India. The 4th and 5th year of the programme are accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), London.
It is an innovative programme designed for young students with leadership and management aspirations. IIM Indore aims to shape these students into exceptional leaders through world-class, interdisciplinary education via the IIMI-IPM.
The key objective of the IIM Indore IPM programme is to produce contextually relevant, socially-conscious managers and leaders — grounded in a strong foundation of social sciences and shaped by rigorous management education.
The IPM fee at IIM Indore for the 2026-31 batch is structured across two phases. The total programme fee is approximately ₹44.8 Lakhs for domestic students.
The UG phase fee is approximately ₹5.55 Lakhs per year, covering tuition, lodging, internet, and library access. Additional charges include a refundable caution deposit of ₹50,000 in the first year (refunded upon programme completion) and an annual mess deposit of ₹54,000. Medical insurance premiums are applicable each year.
The PGP stage fee is charged as per the current Post Graduate Programme (PGP) fee for the applicable batch — approximately ₹10 Lakhs per year. Students are advised to check the official IIM Indore website for the latest PGP fee structure applicable to the 2028-30 batch.
To appear for the IPMAT conducted by IIM Indore, candidates must fulfil the following criteria for the 2026-31 batch:
The IIM Indore IPM admission process has five stages:
Stage 1 — Application: Apply online at the IIM Indore admissions portal. Application fee: ₹4,130 (General/EWS/NC-OBC); ₹2,065 (SC/ST/PwD). The IPMAT 2026 application window closed on March 17, 2026.
Stage 2 — Aptitude Test (IPMAT): The IPMAT 2026 is scheduled for May 4, 2026 (afternoon shift, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM), conducted across 39 cities in India as a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Stage 3 — Sectional Cutoffs: Candidates must clear all three sectional cutoffs (QA SA, QA MCQ, VA) to be eligible for PI shortlisting. In 2025, 818 candidates were shortlisted out of approximately 16,357 who scored positive across all sections.
Stage 4 — Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates appear for an offline PI. IIM Indore expects consistent minimum performance across all PI parameters — candidates not meeting the minimum in any parameter are eliminated.
Stage 5 — Final Merit List: A category-wise merit list is generated based on the Composite Score (CS):
Gender Diversity Bonus: IIM Indore awards bonus marks to female candidates in the final composite score.
The IPMAT is a Computer-Based Test of 120 minutes. It has two sections — Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability — with QA split into MCQ and Short Answer sub-sections. There is no Logical Reasoning section in IPMAT Indore. Each section has a strict 40-minute time limit; candidates cannot move between sections once a section begins.
The table below shows the section-wise breakdown of questions, time, and marking scheme:

Over 49% of the batch secured roles in Consulting and Finance. Consulting alone accounted for 35.4% of all offers, with top recruiters including BCG, Deloitte, Accenture Strategy, and KPMG. Other key domains were General Management/Operations (26.5%), Finance (14.5%), and IT/Analytics.
IPMAT Indore is considered the toughest of the three IPM entrance exams. In 2025, only 818 candidates were shortlisted for PI from approximately 16,357 who scored positive across all sections â and from those 818, only 150 were finally admitted. Preparation depth and section-wise strategy, especially in Verbal Ability, are decisive.
Class 12 marks do not factor into IIM Indore's Composite Score for final selection. Selection is based 65% on IPMAT score and 35% on PI. However, candidates must have cleared Class XII with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwD) to be eligible to apply.
It is advisable to take both exams â they have separate applications, different exam patterns, and different selection processes. A single IPMAT Indore score also opens admissions at 10+ other institutions, making it the higher-leverage exam to prioritise.
Successful completion of all five years awards a Bachelor of Arts (Foundations of Management) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) under the Dual Degree Programme. Students who exit after Year 3 receive only the BA degree.
