Strategy note: In IPMAT Indore, the QA Short Answer (SA) section carries ZERO negative marking. Attempt all 15 SA questions regardless of confidence- wrong answers have no penalty.
IPMAT 2026 Syllabus
IPMAT & JIPMAT provide students an opportunity to pursue an IPM degree from IIMs right after class 12. The exam is separately conducted by IIM Rohtak and IIM Indore, and there is JIPMAT too. The IPMAT syllabus 2026 is also different for each test. Students must thoroughly check the syllabus and identify the differences for effective IPMAT preparation.
Students can secure IPM admission to different IIMs and other top institutes based on the scores of different exams.
- IPMAT Rohtak: IIM Rohtak (for its own IPM), also NALSAR Hyderabad, TAPMI, etc.
- IPMAT Indore: IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIFT Kakinada, IIM Amritsar, IIM Shillong, IIM Sirmaur, etc.
- JIPMAT: IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, TAPMI Manipal, etc.

IPMAT Syllabus 2026 — IIM Indore
The IPMAT Indore exam has three sections: Quantitative Ability (MCQ), Quantitative Ability (SA), and Verbal Ability. QA topics are identical for both MCQ and SA sections — only the question format differs. Students must note that there is no Logical Reasoning section in IPMAT Indore.

IPMAT Indore 2026 Exam Pattern
The IPMAT Indore exam is divided into three sections consisting of 30, 15, and 45 questions respectively, with a total exam duration of 2 hours (120 minutes). IPMAT Syllabus 2026 — IIM Rohtak
The IPMAT Rohtak syllabus is different from IPMAT Indore in one key way — it includes a Logical Reasoning section that is absent in Indore. Students get three sections: Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability — all in MCQ format. Unlike Indore, there is no Short Answer (SA) section, and there is no strict sectional time limit, giving candidates the flexibility to manage time across sections.

JIPMAT Syllabus 2026
JIPMAT is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya. It has three sections: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension. Unlike IPMAT Indore and Rohtak, there is no Personal Interview round — final selection is based solely on JIPMAT score, making it the most accessible entry point among the three exams.
