The student city of Manipal, Karnataka plays host to the T.A. Pai Management Institute, fondly known as TAPMI. Established in 1980, TAPMI is one among the 7 institutes in India and 5% of the top business schools worldwide to have been accredited with the illustrious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation, the oldest and toughest accreditation in the world of business education. It is also the earliest institution in India to have both the AACSB as well as Association of MBAs (AMBA) accreditation. With academic rigor and experiential learning at its core, TAPMI’s Post Graduate Programs are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) since its constitution.
TAPMI’s two-year Master of Business Administration is designed to push students to go beyond their constraints and redraw their boundaries to achieve excellence in business.
Minimum Eligibility
A recognized University graduate with a minimum of 50% marks is eligible. Final-year students can apply, but admission is contingent on maintaining a minimum of 50% in their graduation.

TAPMI considers various aspects beyond test scores, including academic performance, work experience, extracurricular and sports achievements, social contributions, entrepreneurial spirit, diversity, leadership potential, integrity, and values. Entrance examination cut-offs may vary yearly based on applicant profiles and program compatibility. Shortlist decisions will be communicated to students via their registered email addresses.
Stage II: Admission Process (GD-PI)
Group Discussion (GD), Extempore, and Personal Interview (PI).
Group Discussion (GD): Evaluates interaction, problem-solving, confidence, assertiveness, persuasion, collaboration, and communication skills within a group setting.
Extempore: Assesses articulation, coherence, and presence of mind through impromptu speaking on given topics within a 2-3 minute timeframe.Personal Interview (PI): Examines overall attitude and suitability for management education, covering self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, leadership, and communication skills.
*Note: TAPMI modifies the GD/PI process annually to select deserving candidates. Shortlisted candidates will be notified of any changes for the 2024-26 admission process.
** For MBA-Technology Management, two interview rounds are conducted (General Round and Technology-focused Group Interview). All shortlisted applicants must participate in both rounds for eligibility in the MBA (Technology Management) program offers.
