About Us


The student city of Manipal, Karnataka plays host to the T.A. Pai Management Institute, fondly known as TAPMI. Established in 1980, TAPMI is one among the 7 institutes in India and 5% of the top business schools worldwide to have been accredited with the illustrious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation, the oldest and toughest accreditation in the world of business education. It is also the earliest institution in India to have both the AACSB as well as Association of MBAs (AMBA) accreditation. With academic rigor and experiential learning at its core, TAPMI’s Post Graduate Programs are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) since its constitution.

The MBA-Banking and Financial Services is built on a unique curriculum structure that builds a student’s skills and knowledge in finance. The first year covers general finance subjects, and the second year offers specialized training in either banking or capital markets.

TAPMI offers MBA in Human Resources Management in collaboration with Society for Human Resources(SHRM). Along with the successful completion of Master of Business Administration (HRM), students also have the opportunity to take the certificate exam to get SHRM Global Certification, a coveted HR certification for HR professionals.

Minimum Eligibility

A Graduate Degree from a recognised university with not less than 50% marks (final year student may also apply. The admission will be cancelled if they obtain less than 50% in his/her graduation).

For Candidates with work experience of more than 20 months as on March 31, 2022 TAPMI follows “Profile-based shortlisting”. Profile considered for shortlisting consists of

  • Valid CAT/ XAT/ GMAT scores (whichever is higher)
  • Academic profile (10th, 12th, Graduation, Overall academic performance, etc.)
  • Work experience (type of company, total experience in months, etc.)
  • Extra-curricular achievements (State/ National/ International) if any
  • The Statement of Purpose plays an important role in shortlisting
Stage II: Admissions Process

The stage II of TAPMI admissions process consists of, English Proficiency Test (EPT), Moderated Group Discussion (MGD) and Personal Interview (PI).

  • English Proficiency Test (EPT): EPT assesses the English proficiency across listening, writing, and reading skills of the applicant.
  • Moderated Group Discussions (MGD): Moderated Group Discussions involves 6 candidates per group and discussion is moderated by the faculty panel. It aims to evaluate ability of the applicant to interact within a group an enrich the discussion. MGD aims at evaluating applicant’s skills in Problem Solving, Confidence and Assertiveness, Persuasion, Collaboration and Communication. Topics for MGD will be based on current affairs/ issues debated in last five years.
  • Personal Interview (PI): TAPMI’s objective for conducting a personal interview is to understand the applicant’s attitude towards management education. To ensure the same TAPMI will be conducting Behavioural Personal Interview. TAPMI will evaluate applicant’s ability in terms of Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Leadership, and Communication.
Final Selection

The final selection of the candidate is based on Entrance Exam Score + academic profile + work experience + EPT Score + MGD Score + PI Score.

Scholarships


For deserving students, TAPMI provides scholarships upto INR 2.4 crores. Under  Dr. Ramdas Pai Merit Scholarship scheme, around 50 students can bag scholarships worth INR 2.26 crores.
