NABARD Grade 'A' (RDBS) Preliminary (Phase I) Examination-2018 Analysis (May 19, 2018 Morning Slot)



National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) conducted online examination for the recruitment of Assistant Manager in Grade 'A' (RDBS) across the country on 19th May, 2018.

There were 200 questions, which had to be answered in 120 minutes. There were seven sections: Reasoning, English Language, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude, Economic & Social Issues and Agriculture & Rural Development.

Part I: Reasoning, English Language, Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness

Part II: All the other sections, except the English Language section, were available bilingually, that is, in both English and Hindi. Each question had 5 options and was of 1 mark each. There was a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Reasoning Section of NABARD Grade 'A' (RDBS) Prelims (Phase I) Exam 2018:

This section primarily saw easy level of questions. A student should have attempted at least 15 questions. The questions were not time consuming. There were questions on Syllogism, Mathematical Inequalities, Data Arrangement and Sitting Arrangement as well as odd one out, etc.

English Language Section of NABARD Grade 'A' (RDBS) Prelims (Phase I) Exam 2018:

This section contained questions on topics such as Choosing Correct sentences, Reading Comprehension, Phrase Replacement, Cloze Test and Error Spotting. The Reading Comprehension passage was based on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. The passage contained a case study on the limited use of AI knowing its hazards.. The Reading Comprehension passage contained one inference based question, one author's viewpoint question and four fact based questions. There were two questions each on Synonyms and Antonyms. An overall attempt of 30-32 can be considered to be a good attempt.

Computer Knowledge Section of NABARD Grade 'A' (RDBS) Prelims (Phase I) Exam 2018:

All the questions were based on basics of computer like GPRS, operating system, internet, GUI, SMTP, Hacking, Microsoft Office, Malware, Excel, Email, MAN, MICR, etc. This section was of moderate difficulty level and an attempt of 14 questions can be consider as a good attempt.

General Awareness Section of NABARD Grade 'A' (RDBS) Prelims (Phase I) Exam 2018:

This section comprised questions of moderate difficulty level primarily based on current affairs. There were 12 questions on Current affairs. Candidates who have kept themselves abreast with current affairs of the past three to four months would have easily answered most of the questions in this section. Some questions based on the following topics: Government schemes, Grand slam based, Sports based, MNREGA based, Name of train between China and UK etc.

Quantitative Aptitude Section of NABARD Grade 'A' (RDBS) Prelims (Phase I) Exam 2018:

Overall, this section was of moderate to difficulty level. A major chunk of the questions were from DI. There were other questions based on Data Sufficiency, Boats and Streams, Series, Quadratic Equations and Geometry. The questions of DI (Pie Chart) were calculative in nature. Data Sufficiency questions were time consuming. A well prepared student would have easily attempted 18 to 19 questions in this section.

Most of the questions in this section were based on Government Committees, Economic Policies, Budget, Social Issues and Banking. This section was of moderate difficulty level. An overall attempt of 16 - 20 questions can be considered a good attempt.

Agriculture and Rural Development Section of NABARD Grade 'A' (RDBS) Prelims (Phase I) Exam 2018:

Most of the questions in the section were based on the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. Questions were based on Types of Soils, Seeds, Ploughing, Names of Crop Varieties, Poultry, etc. An overall attempt of 15 - 20 questions can be considered as a good attempt.
