Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli ( popularly known as IIM Trichy ) is the eleventh IIM to be established in India. Founded in the year 2011, IIM Trichy provides high -quality management education to young minds and working professionals. It has a batch size of 120 students.

Getting into IIM Trichy (IIM-T)

IIM-T Results Accepted

For PGPM

  • Domestic Candidates (in India) - CAT
  • International Candidate (outside India) - GMAT

For FPM - CAT/GMAT/GRE/UGC JRF/GATE

For PGPBM - Separate written test. Candidates having a valid test score of CAT or GMAT are exempted from the Written Test.
However, they may choose to appear for written test.

Eligibility For PGPM

  • The candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)] awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or must possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. The candidates are required to have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent till the latest examination.

Eligibility For FPM

  • Master’s degree in any discipline, with at least 55 per cent marks and at least 50% marks at Bachelors’ degree level.
    Or 
    Five year/ four year Integrated Masters’ Degree programme in any discipline, with at least 55 percent marks 
    Or 
    Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55 percent marks and at least 50% marks at Bachelors’ degree level.
    Or 
    4 year/8 semester Bachelor’s degree with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent grade point average

Eligibility For PGPBM

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (It may also referred to as Persons with Disability (PWD) category)], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
    Work Experience: The candidate must have a minimum of three years of full-time work experience as on August 1, 2016.

 

IIM Trichy Admission Procedure

  • For PGPM

    Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT or GMAT scores and their previous academic performance. Shortlisted candidates are called for a round of Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). Candidates will finally be selected on the basis of their performance in PI and the CAT/GMAT score.


  • For FPM

    Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above. Shortlisted candidates face a round of Personal Interview after which the final selections to the FPM Programme are made.


  • For PGPBM

    The students first have to fill the application form. Eligible candidates are required to appear for written test. Shortlisted candidates face a round of personal interview after which admission letter is offered to them.


Selection Criteria for PGDM at IIM-Trichy

The admission process of IIM Trichy takes into consideration the candidate's performance in CAT, performance in Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis Test (WAT), academic record and relevant work experience.

Performance in CAT

IIM Trichy uses the CAT scores for choosing students for PI-WAT round. The table given below shows minimum percentile expected from candidates to be shortlisted for the PI & WAT. These percentages are necessary to achieve but not sufficient to get admission. Students should aim for higher percentile.

Evaluation of Performance at Undergraduate level

This performance shall be measured by multiplying the percentage marks scored by the weightage applicable to the discipline. For undergraduate level differential scoring is assigned to different fields. You can refer to the table given below to check weightage given to each field.10 per cent of the score so obtained shall be considered in the overall evaluation. [UG performance score = (per cent score at UG * discipline weightage)* 0.10]

The revised fee for PGPM is approximately Rs.10 lakhs.
