BHU Admission: The admission process will now experience a complete change with the university accepting the CUET pattern for UG admissions from 2022 onwards. Banaras Hindu University has been a top-ranked university for decades since its establishment in 1916. Currently, it has 6 institutions, 14 faculties, and 140 departments that attract thousands of students every year for various courses. It offers various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The university stood at the 6th position in the latest NIRF ranking.
Below are some of the important dates for BHU admission that every candidate must know who is seeking admission in the next batch. As BHU Admissions will now be based on the CUET, the table below shows the tentative dates for CUET 2023.
The University along with its main campus also offers undergraduate courses from the following colleges:
Banaras Hindu University offers around 325 courses in the undergraduate program. The National Testing Agency will conduct the UG entrance exams for BHU admission under the banner of CUET from 2022 onwards. The admissions to various UG courses at BHU will be based on the CUET score of the candidate. However, each of the courses has different eligibility for BHU admission. To be eligible for admissions, one must fulfill all the criteria as laid down by the respective faculty of the University apart from the minimum cut-off of CUET.
B.A (Hons) Arts/ B.A (Hons) Social Sciences: Candidate must not be more than 22 years of age and must have passed class XII or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
B.A (Hons) Economics: Candidate must not be more than 22 years of age and must have passed class XII or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate along with mathematics as one of the papers.
B. Com (Hons)/B. Com (Hons) Financial Markets Management: Candidate must not be more than 22 years of age and must have passed class XII or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate with Commerce/Economics/Maths/Computer Science/Finance/Financial Markets Management as one of the subjects.
B. Sc (Hons) Maths Group: Candidate must not be more than 22 years of age and must have passed class XII or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects Physics, Maths plus any one of the following: Chemistry, Statistics, Geology, Computer Science, Information Technology and Geography and must have passed in each of the concerned three subjects.
B. Sc (Hons) Bio Group: Candidate must not be more than 22 years of age and must have passed class XII or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects Physics, Chemistry plus any one of the following: Biology, Geology and Geography and must have passed in each of the concerned three subjects.
B. F. A (Bachelor of Fine Arts): Candidate must not be more than 22 years of age and must have passed class XII or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
Bachelor of Vocation: Candidate must have passed class XII or equivalent in any stream (Science for Food Processing and Medical Lab Technology) or level 4 NSQF certificate.
Step 1: Candidates must first register themselves as a new user on the official website.
Step 2: Fill in educational details, communication details, etc.
Step 3: Upload the required documents such as signature and photograph.
Step 4: Preview the form and submit it.
Step 5: Pay the fee of the CUET Application Form by any mode mentioned above.
In order to properly make arrangements for the exam, a small amount of the CUET application fee will be collected from all the applicants. Here are the application fees that you will need to pay in order to complete the registration process:

BHU being a Central University offers reservations in admissions according to central government rules.
Scheduled Caste (SC): 15% of the total seats are reserved for students who belong to the SC category.
Scheduled Tribe (ST): 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for students belonging to the ST category.
Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27% of the total intake is reserved for students from Other Backward Classes (OBC), excluding those from the creamy layer.
Economically Weaker Section (EWS): The University has reserved 10% seats for the EWS category, in accordance with the directive of the Ministry of Education.
Persons with Disability (PWD): 5% of the seats are reserved on a horizontal basis for students from the PWD category.
