The JIPMAT 2026 examination will adopt a computer-based test (CBT) format. The test is projected to include 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) distributed across three sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.
Candidates can anticipate earning four marks for each correct answer while incurring a deduction of one mark for every incorrect response. The entire exam is expected to be completed within 150 minutes (2:30 hours). The total marks achievable in the exam are 400. The medium of the exam will be English.

Due to higher demand and rankings in the IPMAT colleges (IIM Indore, Rohtak, and Ranchi) than the JIPMAT colleges (IIM Jammu and Bodh Gaya), they are naturally more difficult to get into. Hence, it is easier to get into JIPMAT colleges than IPMAT colleges.
IIM Jammu selects candidates based on three components: JIPMAT percentile (70% weightage), Class 10th marks (15% weightage), and Class 12th marks (15% weightage). There is no GD or Personal Interview round - selection is entirely merit-based.
