IPM also known as the Integrated Program in Management allows students to complete their Bachelor's degree alongside an MBA. The IPMAT exam eligibility criteria 2026 defines the minimum requirements a candidate must fulfill to apply for this programme. The IIMs which currently offer this program are Indore, Rohtak, Ranchi, Amritsar, Shillong, Jammu, and Bodh Gaya. Other top institutes such as IIFT Kakinada, NALSAR, TAPMI, Nirma University, and Krea University also offer the IPM programme and accept IPMAT Indore scores.

In order to be accepted into the reputed IIMs, candidates are expected to fulfill certain minimum requirements. The IPMAT eligibility marks and age criteria differ slightly between IPMAT Indore, IPMAT Rohtak, and JIPMAT, so candidates must check each exam separately. Stream & Subject Requirements for IPMAT 2026

One of the most commonly asked questions about IPMAT exam eligibility is whether stream affects eligibility. Here is a clear answer:

IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak have absolutely no stream restriction. Students from Science, Commerce, and Arts backgrounds are all equally eligible to apply for IPMAT 2026. A very common question among aspirants is — can I apply for IPMAT without Maths? The answer is yes. You do not need Mathematics in Class XII to apply for IIM Indore or IIM Rohtak's IPM programme. Arts and Commerce students are fully eligible.

The exceptions are IIM Amritsar (Mathematics or Applied Mathematics compulsory in Class XII) and IIM Shillong (Mathematics or Applied Mathematics compulsory in Class XI and XII). IIFT Kakinada also requires Mathematics, Business Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics in Class XII.

There is also no domicile restriction — students from any state in India can apply for any IIM's IPM programme.


How is Percentage Calculated for IPMAT 2026 Eligibility?

Understanding percentage calculation is critical when checking your IPMAT exam eligibility. The method differs between exams:

For IPMAT Indore, there is no minimum percentage prescribed — candidates only need to have passed Class X and Class XII. For IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT, a General category candidate requires a minimum of 60% in both Class X and Class XII. SC/ST/PwD candidates need 55% in both.

Candidates who were born on or after August 01, 2006 are eligible for IPMAT Indore 2026. For IPMAT Rohtak, the maximum age is 20 years as of June 30, 2026 for all categories. JIPMAT has no age limit. Five-year age relaxation is given to SC/ST/PwD candidates for IPMAT Indore and IIM Shillong.

For IPMAT Indore, General/NC-OBC/EWS candidates must be born on or after August 01, 2006. For IPMAT Rohtak, the maximum age is 20 years as of June 30, 2026 for all categories including SC/ST/PwD. JIPMAT has no age bar at all.

Yes, Arts and Commerce students are fully eligible for IPMAT 2026. Mathematics is not required in Class XII for IPMAT Indore or IPMAT Rohtak. This is one of the most searched IPMAT eligibility questions — the answer is a clear yes for both streams. The only exceptions are IIM Amritsar and IIM Shillong, which require Maths in Class XII.

No. Neither IIM Jammu nor IIM Bodh Gaya prescribes an age limit for JIPMAT 2026. However, candidates must have passed Class X in 2021 or later for IIM Jammu, and 2023 or later for IIM Bodh Gaya.

No. IIM Indore only requires that candidates have passed Class X — no minimum percentage is specified in the official IIM Indore admission document. This is different from IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT, which require 60% in Class X.

For IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT, 59.9% does not meet the 60% threshold — IIMs do not round up percentages. For IPMAT Indore however, there is no minimum percentage requirement, so you are still eligible as long as you have passed Class X.

Apart from IIM Indore, the following institutes accept IPMAT Indore scores: IIM Ranchi, IIM Amritsar, IIM Shillong, IIFT Kakinada, NALSAR, Nirma University, TAPMI Manipal, Krea University (IFMR), Alliance University, and IIM Sirmaur (for BMS programme).

No correction will be available to candidates later. Hence, they are advised to fill in all the required details carefully. No change in category will be entertained once the application is submitted.

IPMAT and JIPMAT are only held once a year across India, but the candidate can attempt the test multiple times as long as they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
