NCHMCT conducted its All India Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to its 3-year B.Sc. Programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration for its affiliated institutes across the country on the April 25, 2015.
There were 200 questions in the paper and the duration of the exam was 3 hours. There were five sections in all - English Language, Reasoning and Logical Deduction, Numerical Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs and Aptitude for Service Sector. The overall level of difficulty of the test was easy.
The pattern of the test was as follows:

Each question had 4 options. In all the sections, except for the Service Aptitude Section, 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The marking scheme for the 'Aptitude for Service Sector' section was different. The answers will be graded from the most to the least appropriate one. The marking scheme of this section is as follows:
1 mark will be awarded for the most appropriate answer, 0.75 for the next best answer, 0.50 for the next best choice and a negative of 0.25 for the least appropriate one.
English Language
This section had a mixed bag of questions based on Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension. In Vocabulary, there were questions on Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms, One Word Substitution and Spelling. Unlike previous year, there were no questions on Fill in the Blanks. There were 7 Reading Comprehension passages. Four passages were followed by 5 questions, while two passages were followed by 2 and 3 questions respectively. These passages were based on diverse topics like e-commerce, gold rates, coal mining, fisheries, etc. The overall difficulty level of this section was easy.
Reasoning and Logical Deduction
This section saw primarily easy level of questions. A student could have attempted around 20 - 22 questions in 30 to 35 minutes. This section comprise of questions on Series, Coding - Decoding, Blood Relation, Syllogisms, Visual Reasoning, etc. Most of the question in this section could have been solved by applying basic logic.
Numerical Ability
This section had 30 questions in total. The questions in Numerical Ability section were from varied topics like Ratio, Percentage, Simple and Compound Interest, Probability, Time, Speed and Distance and Time and Work.
General Knowledge and Current Affairs
This section was dominated by questions from Current Affairs and General Science. The questions on Science required basic understanding of the subject. The overall level of difficulty of this section was easy - moderate. Like previous year, there weren't many questions from static G.K. The areas from which the questions were asked included hospitality industry, personality, awards, sports, science & technology, etc. A student could have attempted around 22-24 questions. The level of difficulty of this section was easy - moderate.
Aptitude for Service Sector
There were 50 questions in this section, which were easy in nature. A lot of questions were related to real life situations and work culture in service sector. Some questions in this section tested the personality traits of the students while a few tested their decision making skills. Since the options were not very difficult, all the questions could have been attempted after giving a little thought.
