IBPS PO 2018 Notification

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Probationary Officer (PO) Common written Examination (CWE) is a popular Bank entrance exam conducted for recruiting officers in various public and private sector Banks across India.


The IBPS CWE 2018 is will shortlist candidates for 27 public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). It will be conducted in online mode at multiple locations across India.


Eligible candidates have to register online for the recruitment process on the official IBPS website. The selection process is 3-tiered and consists of Preliminary and Main Exams which are conducted online, followed by an Interview round. Candidates have to pass each exam to get selected and advance to the next round of the admission process. The final selection is based on the performance of the candidate in the Mains and Interview rounds.

IBPS PO 2018 Exam Dates

The online registration for IBPS PO 2018 entrance exam will begin tentatively from August 2018 and the process will end in the month of April 2019.

IBPS PO 2018 Educational Qualification

How to Apply for IBPS PO 2018?

  • Candidates are required to first visit the official portal of IBPS
  • Candidates are now advised to follow the instructions
  • Once candidates are done filling their details, they should cross-check the details and click the “SAVE AND NEXT” tab
  • After this, the candidates are required to make the payment and complete the final step of their registration process

IBPS PO Exam Pattern

Following the pattern in the previous years, the IBPS CWE for recruiting candidates will be based two exams conducted online: IBPS PO Preliminary Exam or Tier 1 and IBPS PO Mains Exams or Tier 2. This is followed by a face-to-face interview process.

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO preliminary examination is conducted online and has a total duration of 1 hour. It is comprised of 100 questions from 3 sections. There is negative marking in IBPS PO prelims exam and 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer. Candidates must clear the cut-off in all 3 sections to be shortlisted for the IBPS PO Mains exam. Please find the section-wise details below:

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO Mains exam is conducted online as well. It is comprised of 5(4+1) sections with a total score of 225 (200+25) marks and total duration of 210 (180+30) minutes. Similar to IBPS PO 2017, IBPS will curate a subjective paper in its Mains exam for recruitment of candidates to the post of Probationary Officer.

The sections in the IBPS PO Mains exam must be attempted in the order of their appearance and within the allotted time as mandated on the question paper. An eligible candidate has to clear both preliminary and mains exams to be shortlisted for the interview process.
