Starting with the 2026-28 batch, IIM Kashipur will no longer participate in the Common Admission Process (CAP). Instead, it is part of the newly formed Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026, which groups four IIMs together: IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli.
The JAP streamlines the application experience for candidates: rather than applying to each institute separately, a single JAP registration covers all four participating IIMs. Candidates who opted for any of these four institutes on their CAT 2025 application form and meet the minimum eligibility criteria receive an email invitation from the JAP 2026 Admission Office to register online.
Completing this JAP online registration is mandatory for advancing to the Personal Interview stage. Candidates who do not register within the specified window lose their candidature. Based on CAT 2025 scores, a subset of registered candidates is then shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI). The final merit list integrates CAT scores, academic marks, PI performance, work experience, and diversity factors.
To apply for the MBA (General) programme under JAP 2026, candidates must meet the following academic eligibility requirements as per the official IIM Kashipur MBA 2026 Admission Policy.
IIM Kashipur follows Government of India reservation norms across all its programmes. The seat allocation adheres to the mandated percentages for SC, ST, NC-OBC, EWS, and PwD (DAP) categories.
The MBA (Analytics) is a two-year full-time residential programme designed to prepare future leaders for a technology-driven, data-oriented business world. The admission process for this programme is independent of the JAP and runs through its own portal.
The cutoffs below are the official CAT 2025 percentile thresholds for the Personal Interview (PI) shortlisting under JAP 2026. These apply to all four JAP 2026 participating IIMs: IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli.

The following documents must be kept ready as they may be requested at any stage of the admission process for verification:
JAP (Joint Admission Process) 2026 is a collaborative admission process launched by IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli. Unlike the earlier CAP (Common Admission Process) which covered a broader set of IIMs, JAP groups these four institutes and allows candidates to apply to all four through a single registration. IIM Kashipur will no longer be part of CAP from the 2026-28 batch onwards.
Candidates with a full-time Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) and a valid CAT 2025 score are eligible. Final-year undergraduate students may also apply, provided they meet the eligibility criteria at the time of joining. Overseas candidates may apply with a valid GMAT score.
The final selection integrates multiple parameters: CAT 2025 / GMAT score, academic performance in Class X, Class XII, and Graduation, Personal Interview score, work experience (up to a specified weight), and diversity factors (gender diversity and academic discipline diversity). The exact weightage will be published in the JAP 2026 guidelines.
Yes. IIM Kashipur provides full yearly tuition fee waivers to 10% of students in each year under three categories: Need-based, Merit-based, and Need-cum-Merit Scholarship. Students may also apply for Government of India scholarships available for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD students through the National Scholarship Portal.
Candidates need mark sheets for Class X, XII, and graduation, caste or EWS certificate (if applicable), work experience certificates with salary slips (for working professionals), and a valid CAT 2025 score card or GMAT score report. All documents must be self-attested and ready for verification at multiple stages.
Yes. Work experience is a positive factor in the final merit score, with up to a defined number of months of experience receiving additional weightage. The MBA programme is open to both fresher and experienced candidates. The Executive MBA and Executive MBA (Analytics) programmes are specifically designed for mid- and senior-level professionals with a minimum of three years of work experience.
