What Is JAP 2026? The New Admission Process
Starting with the 2026-28 batch, IIM Kashipur will no longer participate in the Common Admission Process (CAP). Instead, it is part of the newly formed Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026, which groups four IIMs together: IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli.
The JAP streamlines the application experience for candidates: rather than applying to each institute separately, a single JAP registration covers all four participating IIMs. Candidates who opted for any of these four institutes on their CAT 2025 application form and meet the minimum eligibility criteria receive an email invitation from the JAP 2026 Admission Office to register online.
Completing this JAP online registration is mandatory for advancing to the Personal Interview stage. Candidates who do not register within the specified window lose their candidature. Based on CAT 2025 scores, a subset of registered candidates is then shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI). The final merit list integrates CAT scores, academic marks, PI performance, work experience, and diversity factors.
JAP 2026 Process: Step by Step
- Appear in CAT 2025 and opt for IIM Kashipur during the CAT registration.
- Receive email invitation from JAP 2026 Admission Office post CAT result declaration.
- Complete mandatory online registration on the JAP 2026 portal within the specified deadline, choose three cities for the offline PI, upload required documents, and verify all details.
- Get shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI) based on your CAT 2025 score.
- Attend the offline Personal Interview (PI) at one of your chosen cities.
- Receive admission offer based on the composite merit score (CAT score + Academic scores + PI performance + Work Experience + Diversity).

IIM Kashipur MBA Eligibility Criteria 2026
To apply for the MBA (General) programme under JAP 2026, candidates must meet the following academic eligibility requirements as per the official IIM Kashipur MBA 2026 Admission Policy.
Academic Qualification
- A full-time Bachelor's degree in any discipline (10+2+3 pattern) from a university or institution recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, or equivalent.
- Minimum 50% marks in graduation for General category candidates.
- Minimum 45% marks for SC/ST/PwD (DAP) candidates.
- The eligibility is also valid for candidates in the final year of graduation, subject to meeting the criteria at the time of joining.
Qualifying Exam
- Valid CAT 2025 score.
- Overseas candidates may apply through GMAT.
Reservation Policy
IIM Kashipur follows Government of India reservation norms across all its programmes. The seat allocation adheres to the mandated percentages for SC, ST, NC-OBC, EWS, and PwD (DAP) categories.
IIM Kashipur MBA (Analytics) Eligibility Criteria 2026
The MBA (Analytics) is a two-year full-time residential programme designed to prepare future leaders for a technology-driven, data-oriented business world. The admission process for this programme is independent of the JAP and runs through its own portal.
Academic Qualification
- A full-time Bachelor's degree in any discipline (10+2+3), with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- 47% marks for NC-OBC / EWS candidates.
- 45% marks for SC / ST / PwD candidates.
Qualifying Exam
- Valid CAT 2025 score, OR
- GMAT score, provided the exam was not taken before May 1, 2024.
Application Fee
- General / NC-OBC / EWS Candidates: INR 1,500 (non-refundable)
- SC / ST / PwD Candidates: INR 750 (non-refundable)
MBA (Analytics) Admission Process
- Submit the online application on the MBA (Analytics) portal with all required documents and pay the application fee.
- Shortlisting based on CAT 2025 / GMAT score, academic marks (Class X, XII, Graduation), work experience, discipline diversity, and gender diversity.
- Shortlisted candidates attend an Online Personal Interview (PI).
- Final selection based on the combined PI score (20 marks) and Shortlist Score (80 marks).

Documents Required for the Admission Process
The following documents must be kept ready as they may be requested at any stage of the admission process for verification:
- Caste Certificate (NC-OBC / SC / ST / PwD), if applicable. NC-OBC Certificate must be valid at the time of admission registration.
- EWS supporting document as per Government of India norms.
- Class X (SSC) Marksheet
- Class XII (HSC) Marksheet
- Graduation Degree Marksheet and Degree Certificate
- Proof of Work Experience: Experience Certificates with first and last salary slips mentioning specific joining and leaving dates. Self-employed professionals may submit a personal declaration with supporting documents.
- Note: Only paid, full-time work experience acquired after completing the Bachelor's degree is considered. Apprenticeships, articleships, and internships forming part of coursework are excluded.
- For work in the unorganised sector: a bank salary certificate confirming salary transfer from the firm's account to the employee's bank account is mandatory.
