Established in 2007, the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, or IIM Shillong (IIM-S) is a public, autonomous management institute located in Shillong, Meghalaya. IIM Shillong was the 7th IIM to be established in the nation.

The sprawling new 120-acre permanent campus of IIM Shillong at Umsawli is set amidst natural greenery and is replete with all the facilities to make it a temple of study.

The institute offers courses in postgraduate, doctoral, and executive programs in management education, and MDPs (Management Development Programmes comprising various areas of management. IIM Shillong admission is based on CAT scores obtained by the aspirants and advancing to the group discussion and PI (personal interview) rounds. Additionally, IIM Shillong also encompasses a Centre for Development of North Eastern Region (CEDNER), to offer programs pertinent to the local society and community of the state and the province.

IIM Shillong Shortlist Application Process

Aspirants seeking admission at IIM Shillong are required to apply for the opted course by turning in the CAT application form and can check their shortlist status on the institute’s official website. The shortlisted candidates can fill out the PI (Personal Interview) form as they will be screened for the Personal Interview round.

  • Enter CAT registration ID and email ID
  • Click on 'submit' to check your shortlist status and conform to the provided application instructions.

IIM Shillong Admission Criteria

The admission process at IIM Shillong for the PGP (2023-25) will be carried out in 2 phases:

Phase 1: Shortlisting for GD & PI

The minimum requirement of marks in various sections of CAT for candidates across different categories needs to be fulfilled to be considered for GD & PI. The eligible candidates will then be segregated as per their academic disciplines in graduation and categories and gender as reported in CAT-2022. The candidates in a given category, academic discipline, and gender would be ranked based on decreasing order of their CAT overall percentile. 

Phase 2: Merit Listing for Offering Admission to PGP Batch

After the GD & PI process, the scores of PI will be used along with the academic and overall CAT performance of the shortlisted candidates for preparation of the final merit list. Offer for admissions will be made based on this merit list.
