CAT 2018 Exam Dates

The CAT 2018 timeline is expected to be similar to that of CAT 2017. The official CAT 2018 notification shall be tentatively released on the last Sunday of July 2018. Online application for the exam shall remain open tentatively from second week of August to fourth week of September 2018. Likewise, the CAT 2018 exam can be expected to be held in the fourth week of November 2018.

How to be ready on CAT 2018 exam date

  • Carry a print out of your CAT Admit card to your exam centre
  • Check if you have pasted your photograph on CAT 2018 admit card identical to the one uploaded during registration for the exam.
  • Note that CAT Admit Card is valid only if the candidate's photograph and signature images are legibly printed.
  • Carry at least one original and valid photo identification card. This ID needs to be produced for verification at your CAT exam centre on the day of the exam.
  • All the valid and acceptable Photo IDs include: College ID, Employer ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhar Card, Identification Affidavit.
  • The candidate's photograph and signature on the ID should match the same on Admit Card. The Photo ID card should not be damaged or smudged.
  • Locate your allocated CAT exam centre and gauge its accessibility a day before the test so that you can reach there on time on the CAT exam date.

CAT 2018 Exam Date: Do's and Don'ts

  • Reach your allocated centre on the CAT exam date one and a half hours before the CAT exam is supposed to commence
  • Carry only your Admit Card & Photo ID Card inside the CAT test hall. Nothing else is allowed.
  • Allow candidates with disabilities to get into test centre first as they are allowed entry on priority.
  • Do not carry your cell phones, electronic gadgets, calculators, stationary items, papers, wallets, or similar things as they are not allowed inside the exam centre on CAT exam date.
  • Do not wear any jewelry or other metal accessories; you'll be asked to remove them before entry.
  • Don't ask your friends or relatives to accompany you as they will not be permitted inside the test centre.

Locating your seat at your CAT exam center

There is Test System Number in your CAT Admit card. This unique number is provided for the purpose of identifying the floor / wing and your designated seat at the exam centre on the CAT exam date.

For any other correspondence with your CAT exam centre, you should provide your Registration Number and not the Test System number.

Inside the CAT exam hall

  • Before you enter the CAT examination hall, you should use the washroom as you will not be permitted to go to washroom during the exam.
  • You will be given a rough pad and pen for rough work. You should write your name and registration number on the rough pad. This rough pad will have to be returned at the end of the exam.
