MHT-CET Exam

MHT CET (MH CET) or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai for admissions to first year Engineering and Technology programmes (BE/BTech) and Pharmacy programmes (BPharma/PharmaD) in the state.

The examination will be conducted at various centres across the Maharashtra as well as outside Maharashtra State by Online mode (Computer Based Test) tentatively from 13rd April, 2020 to 17th April, 2020 and 20th April, 2020 to 23 April, 2020 for PCM and PCB group separately.

The exam comprised of three papers. Paper 1 - Mathematics while Paper-2 - Physics and Chemistry. Zoology and Botany questions are asked in Paper-3. These were MCQ-based and the duration was 90 minutes for each.

Eligibility Criteria

All aspirants who have passed / appeared in the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination and having Indian Nationality are eligible for appearing for MHT CET. There is no age limit for admission and appearing to MHT CET 2019.

Candidature Type

Maharashtra State Candidature: A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.

Type Eligibility Criterion Home University
A Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State.
Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra
Place of passing of Qualifying Examination falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
B A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate. Place of Domicile Certificate issuing authority falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
C A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP. Place of posting of Father or Mother of Candidate falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
D A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking. Place of posting of Father or Mother of Candidate or the place of settlement of the Father or Mother if retired or the place of last posting if deputed outside Maharashtra falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
E Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi. Candidate shall be considered for the Outside Home University or State Level Seats.

All India Candidature: The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.

Minority Candidature: The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.

Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature

Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National - These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET.

In addition to the basic qualification mentioned above, candidate who is suffering from any one of the following permanent disability is eligible to seek admission against seats reserved for Persons with Disability candidates (i.e. Candidate who is visually impaired (blind) Candidate type- P1, Candidate who is speech & hearing impaired (deaf & dumb) Candidate type- P2, Candidate who has orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Spastic Candidate type -P3), provided they submit a certificate clearly stating that the extent of disability is not less than 40% and the disability is of permanent nature.

Admission to Mining Engineering course

Female candidates are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.

Duration of the test for PCM is 180 minutes and PCB is 180 minutes. The candidate should appear the following test in the below prescribed manner -

Online Application Form

Application Form for MHT-CET 2020 will be filled through Online Mode (CBT-Computer Based Test) only. The information brochure for MHT-CET 2020 and the user manual for filling up the online application form is available on web site "mhtcet2020.mahaonline.gov.in". For submission of online application form the candidates should login at mhtcet2020.mahaonline.gov.in website.

The Online Application Submission is four step process:

Candidate MUST review their Form details before payment of Fees; the details will not be available for edit once payment is made.

Fees once paid will not be refundable under any circumstances.

To Upload Photograph And Signature

Please note that all the applicants are required to upload their recent scanned/digital colour photograph and signature. The file size of the Photograph should be between 15 KB to 50 KB and Signature should be between 5KB to 20 KB per file. The online application system will not allow to upload files smaller or larger than the specified size. All Candidates have to upload their Photograph and Signature in ".jpg" format only and file name of Photograph and signature should preferably be photo.jpg and sign.jpg respectively.

MHT-CET-2020 Application Fee Payment:

Application form processing fees as stated in the table given below is to be paid through either online mode or using challan system / Mobile Wallets for which the service charges, as per rules, shall be applicable in addition to the application form processing fees. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. If the candidate opted for only PCM or only PCB in General Category, he/ she will have to pay Rs.800/- and for Reserve Category candidate from State of Maharashtra he/ she will have to pay Rs.600/- as a MHT-CET 2020 examination fee. If the candidate opted for both the groups i.e. PCM and PCB then for General Category, he/ she will have to pay Rs.1600/- and for Reserve Category candidate from State of Maharashtra he/ she will have to pay Rs.1200/- as a MHT-CET 2020 examination fee.

For General Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates Rs.800/-
For Candidates of Backward Class Categories SC, ST, VJ/DT- NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC, SEBC and EWS and Persons with Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only. Rs.600/-

Candidates will be required to submit the Caste certificate and Caste Validity and Non Creamy Layer Certificate if applicable at the Time of filling in CAP Application Form to be considered under Category.

MH-CET 2019 Counselling Process

Registration: The first step is to register on the official website and submit your personal, communication and security details. After filling in all the details, a password needs to be selected. Once the password is generated, other remaining details needs to be filled. After entering the above details, aspirant's need to register their qualification details ( subject wise and overall marks in 10th and 12th standard along with the name of the board) and examination details.

Uploading Scanned images: At this step, aspirants will have to upload their scanned photograph and signature of file size 4KB to 100KB and dimensions 3.5*4.5cm and 1KB to 30KB and 3.5*1.5cm respectively.

Payment of Counselling Fees: Lastly, aspirants will be required to pay the counselling fees online basis their category.
