The IPM-2015 Exam

The IPM Admission Test is the entry level test conducted by IIM Indore that the candidates are required to qualify in order to pursue the IPM programme. The exam is conducted every year in April-May. The exam comprises of 100 questions divided into two sections.

  1. Quantitative Ability (60 Questions)
  2. Verbal Ability (40 Questions)

For each correct answer, a candidate is awarded +4 marks and there is a penalty of -1 mark for each incorrect answer. With 100 questions to be done in a matter of 120 minutes, the IPM exam is a test of applying the basic concepts at a good speed.

Quantitative Aptitude :
Out of 60 QA questions, 10 questions were of Data Interpretation, primarily Pie Chart, Caselet and Reasoning based. The QA questions were majorly dominated by Arithmetic, followed by Number System. In 80 minutes, an attempt of 38-40 was a good one.

Verbal Ability :
The section had two Reading Comprehension sets of 4 questions each. The difficulty level of this section was easy. The questions were of Fill in the Blanks (Single Blank), Sentence Correction, Synonyms, Antonyms, Para Jumbles, Para Completion, Analogy, Words Usage.
