According to the IPMAT exam pattern 2027, negative marking applies to all MCQ-type questions across IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak. For every incorrect MCQ answer, 1 mark is deducted (-1). Unattempted questions carry no penalty.

The only exception is the Short Answer (SA) section in IPMAT Indore; incorrect or blank SA answers receive 0 marks with no deduction. This makes it strategically important to attempt every SA question, even when unsure of the exact answer.
