The K. J. Somaiya Medical College is a Private Medical College located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The medical college was started in the year 1991 and is owned and managed by the Somaiya Medical Trust. It is affiliated to 'The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. The college is spread across 22.5 acre campus in the heart city of Mumbai.

Getting into KJ Somaiya Medical College - Admissions

For MBBS program- NEET

Candidates seeking admission to KJ Somaiya Medical College must qualify National Eligibility Cum Entrance (NEET 2017) conducted by CBSE. Additionally, it is necessary for a candidate to score a minimum of 50% aggregate in NEET 2017 to become eligible for admission to MBBS programs. Candidates have to register themselves in NEET counseling wherein they are supposed to enter the colleges and courses of their choice. After the declaration of results, based upon their scores and ranks, the candidates are allotted admission into desired institutes through counseling.

  • The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of the admission.
  • Interested students must have passed class 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and 50% in Biology/Biotechnology individually. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination may also apply.


Supreme Court of India had ordered to scrap all state CET exams for the MBBS entrance last year. The states are supposed to hold only Single Exam - NEET from now on.

NEET will be conducted in an offline mode (pen and paper based) at various centres across the country. The question paper will be available in different languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu.


Examination pattern

The question paper will comprise of 180 questions. Questions will be of MCQ type with each question having four options to choose from. The duration of exam will be three hours.
The question papers will be composed of four sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

NEET Syllabus

The questions to be asked in NEET 2017 exam will be based upon the topics and chapters from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany taught in 10+2 level at school. The NEET syllabus is prepared after reviewing various state syllabi as well as those prepared by the CBSE, NCERT and COBSE.
