- Admissions (Group A - MBBS)

For MBBS program- NEET + An aptitude test set by CMC
Candidates seeking admission to CMC must qualify National Eligibility Cum Entrance (NEET 2017) conducted by CBSE. Additionally, it is necessary for a candidate to score a minimum of 50% aggregate in NEET 2017 to become eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS programs.

  • Candidates should have been born on or before 31 Dec 2000.
  • Candidates must have passed/appeared in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry Biology/Bio-technology and English as compulsory subjects in class 11th and 12th.
  • A candidate applying for admission to medical course in CMC "must have at least 60% marks at +2 level in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and must have an aggregate of 140/200 in these subjects, both at qualifying and competitive examinations.
  • Candidates should have passed in all subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination, conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent examination in one and the same attempt only.

Admission procedure CMC

Admission at CMC is strictly based on the merit list of candidates which is prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in stage 1(aptitude test) and stage 2(interview) of admission process. The complete cycle of MBBS admission at CMC is represented here:

The merit list of candidates is released after stage 1 and 2. The candidates shortlisted at stage 2 of admission process are called for admission. The verification of documents of desired candidates is conducted at the time of stage 2 registration.

Stage 1: Aptitude test - An aptitude test is conducted in addition to NEET, by CMC. The aptitude test aims at testing the General Ability and Speed & Accuracy of medical aspirants. The test is conducted in an online mode and will consist of objective type questions. The medium of exam is English. The test comprises of a total of 120 questions divided in two sections.
