Institute of Medical Science
The Institute of Medical Sciences is the medical college of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). It is a residential and co-educational college like other colleges of BHU. The college was first established as the College of Medical Sciences in 1960 by Dr. K. N. Udupa, the Founder Director of the Institute.In 1971, the College of Medical Sciences, was upgraded to Institute of Medical Sciences.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF Institute of Medical Science:
Candidate should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board and should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (taken together) and should have passed English as one of the subjects.
The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
NEET (2019) EXAM PATTERN:
- Aspirants would be awarded +4 for every correct answer and a penalty of -1 for every incorrect answer.
- Minimum eligible score for the entrance of MBBS is 50 percentile for general category, 45 percentile for physically handicapped general candidates and 40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC category candidate.
