Osmania Medical College located in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh) is one of the oldest medical institutions of the country. It was founded in the year 1846 as Hyderabad medical school. The college is known for its excellent performance in the field of medical sciences. It admits 200 undergraduates, 162 postgraduates and 14 students for super speciality every year. The college is affiliated to Osmania General Hospital for clinical studies. However, there are several other affiliated hospitals where undergraduate and postgraduate training is impaired.
For MBBS program- NEET
Candidates seeking admission to OMC must qualify National Eligibility Cum Entrance (NEET 2017) conducted by CBSE. Additionally, it is necessary for a candidate to score a minimum of 50% aggregate in NEET 2017 to become eligible for admission to MBBS programs. Candidates have to register themselves in NEET counseling wherein they are supposed to enter the colleges and courses of their choice. After the declaration of results, based upon their scores and ranks, the candidates are allotted admission into desired institutes through counseling.
Supreme Court of India had ordered to scrap all state CET exams for the MBBS entrance last year. The states are supposed to hold only Single Exam - NEET from now on.
NEET will be conducted in an offline mode (pen and paper based) at various centres across the country. The question paper will be available in different languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu.
EXAMINATION DATE - MAY 7TH 2017
The question paper will comprise of 180 questions. Questions will be of MCQ type with each question having four options to choose from. The duration of exam will be three hours.
The question papers will be composed of four sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

The questions to be asked in NEET 2017 exam will be based upon the topics and chapters from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany taught in 10+2 level at school. The NEET syllabus is prepared after reviewing various state syllabi as well as those prepared by the CBSE, NCERT and COBSE.
MBBS fee at Osmania Medical College is around Rs. 600,000 for the entire course.
