Post Graduate Institute of Medical, Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh is an Institute of National Importance. It was established in the year 1962 in erstwhile state of Punjab and declared an Institute of national importance on 1 April 1967. It offers various programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and training in medical fields. It was ranked second in the list of NIRF rankings for medical college in 2019.

MHA

i)The candidate must possess MBBS or an equivalent degree from a University/ Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) with a minimum experience of three years in a hospital in the relevant field or five years in general practice. A certificate issued by the District Magistrate in support of the general practice claimed should be enclosed with the application.
ii)Must be registered with Central /State Medical Registration Council.

MPH

i)The candidate must possess MBBS/BDS/B.V. Sc/BE/MA/M. Sc on or before 30th June 2020 with at least 50% marks in aggregate.  However, those belongings to SC/ST/OBC with a least 45% marks from a University/ Institute recognized by the Medical /Dental/Veterinary council of India/ the Institution of Engineers (India) and UGC/AICTE
ii)Must have either completed, or due to complete, respective rotatory internship training on or before 30th June (if applicable)
iii)Must be registered with Central /State Medical/Dental/Veterinary Registration Council. (if applicable)

Admission Process

  • Admission to courses will be done on the basis of qualifying entrance test followed by personal counselling conducted by the university itself.
  • The selection of applicants for DM and MCh will be made on the basis of qualifying entrance exam and practical exam both.
  • Candidates who have cleared NEET PG exam will also be considered for selection to MD/MS courses.
  • Candidates who have cleared NEET MDS are also eligible to apply for MDS course offered by the university.
  • Candidates who have cleared NEET SS will also be eligible to apply for DM/M.Ch. offered by the university.

Reservation Policy

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category will be benefited by a 5% of marks relaxation in 12th standard / Graduation to be considered eligible for the concerned course

  • The PGIMER includes infrastructure for patient care includes the Nehru Hospital which is a 1400 bedded hospital with 98 rooms in the 5 private wards and two research blocks for basic science.
