About St. John's Medical College

St. John's Medical College Bangalore, established in 1963, is one of the best medical institutions we have. It was established by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India that runs St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences. The college annually accepts 60 students for its MBBS program. The college is known for having 1350 beds for all medical and surgical departments including super-specialty departments, a top class College of Nursing, a Research Institute with the most modern facilities.

Getting into St. John's Medical College- Admissions

For MBBS program- NEET

Candidates seeking admission to St. John's medical must qualify National Eligibility Cum Entrance (NEET 2017) conducted by CBSE. Additionally, it is necessary for a candidate to score a minimum of 50% aggregate in NEET 2017 to become eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS programs.

Eligibility criteria St. John's Medical College

  • The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of the admission.
  • Interested students must have passed class 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and 50% in Biology/Biotechnology individually (40% in case of SC/ST candidates). Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination may also apply.


Supreme Court of India had ordered to scrap all state CET exams for the MBBS entrance last year. The states are supposed to hold only Single Exam - NEET from now on.

NEET will be conducted in an offline mode (pen and paper based) at various centres across the country. The question paper will be available in different languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu.


Examination pattern

The question paper will comprise of 180 questions. Questions will be of MCQ type with each question having four options to choose from. The duration of exam will be three hours.
The question papers will be composed of four sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

NEET Syllabus

The questions to be asked in NEET 2017 exam will be based upon the topics and chapters from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany taught in 10+2 level at school. The NEET syllabus is prepared after reviewing various state syllabi as well as those prepared by the CBSE, NCERT and COBSE.
