Alongside, here’s a comprehensive plan for the 3 months leading to the exam. It will help you make the most of your preparation time:
September: Fundamentals and Concept Building
> Begin by revising basic concepts in quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, and logical reasoning. Make use of CAT preparation books or online resources to brush up on the fundamentals.
> Focus on solving practice questions from each topic to strengthen your understanding. Start with easy and moderate-difficulty questions and gradually move to more challenging ones.
> Start practicing full-length mock tests as they will help you assess your initial strengths and weaknesses and get used to the time constraints of the exam.
> Learn problem-solving techniques and shortcuts in quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning. Also, focus on enhancing your vocabulary and reading comprehension skills for the VARC section.
October: Regular Practice and Improvement
> Identify your weak areas based on your mock test performance. Devote extra time to these topics while revising the strong areas at a comfortable pace.
> Work on improving your speed and accuracy. Try to solve questions within the time limits. Analyze each mock test to understand your mistakes and rectify them.
> Identify questions you are unable to solve and try reattempting them. In places of continuous error, ensure that you learn and go over the concepts again.
> Increase the frequency of the mocks as you get closer to the exam date. Practice the mock tests at the slot given in your admit card to examine your strategy and familiarize yourself with the setting.
November: Final Preparation and Exam Strategy
> Review and revise all the notes, formulas, and essential concepts you’ve gathered over the past two months. Avoid studying new topics during this month to prevent overwhelming yourself.
> Take one or two more mock tests to fine-tune your test-taking strategy. Pay attention to time management, question selection, and maintaining composure under pressure.
> In the last week, focus on maintaining a calm and positive mindset. Get adequate sleep, eat well, and avoid last-minute cramming. Engage in light revision and solve a few practice questions to keep your mind sharp.
