The NMAT is a well-recognized MBA entrance examination managed by GMAC and is recognized by numerous esteemed global colleges. It is particularly known for gaining admission to NMIMS' excellent MBA programs in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru campuses. It is not limited to India but is also widely accepted outside the country as well.

To qualify for the NMAT, candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree from a renowned university or college with a minimum aggregate of 50% or an equivalent GPA. The exam is conducted over a 70-day window period, and registration is carried out through the official NMAT website. Candidates are allowed a maximum of three attempts at the NMAT, with a mandatory gap of 15 days between each sitting.

NMIMS Mumbai

  • NMAT score is required for all MBA programs offered
  • The average fee for an MBA in NMIMS is INR 9.6 LPA
  • The average placement package is 26.63 LPA


  • The Global Management Programme accepts NMAT test scores

NMAT Application Form for B-schools

A candidate gets an option of selecting up to 5 Top NMAT Colleges schools from the list of participating colleges during NMAT registration. If a candidate wants to apply to more than 5 colleges, an additional fee of Rs 300 + taxes will be charged per scorecard.

GMAC sends the NMAT report to the preferred universities after the declaration of the result. The colleges set a minimum cut-off as an admission barrier to sift the candidates based on various parameters including 10th, 12th, and graduation grades, gender diversity, and work experience.


While the names of the top NMAT colleges seem to be extremely alluring, the choices should not be made on reputation alone. Numerous factors including program offered, location, placements, and fees come into play as per an individual’s requirements.

NMIMS Mumbai remains the top choice for MBA admissions through the NMAT Exam. On the other hand, ISB is a good opportunity for working professionals looking to upgrade themselves or someone who is extremely interested in the field of Machine Learning.

NMAT has the longest testing window of 70 days and candidates can make a maximum of 3 attempts per year. To register, candidates can apply through the online registration application available on the official website now that registrations are open.


Candidates scoring 200 points are also eligible for admission to other well-known institutions like Bennett University, ISBR Business School, IBS Hyderabad, SDA Bocconi, and Alliance University in Bangalore, according to the rankings from 2021.

A score of 195 in NMAT is regarded as a good score and may qualify you for consideration at numerous reputable B-schools. Based on the previous year's data colleges such as NMIMS Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Shirpur, and Indore have accepted scores in this range.

A score range between 230 to 240 which is around 99+ percentile is a good score in NMAT Exam.

Scoring between 230-240 in the NMAT exam corresponds to a high percentile ranking. A score of 200 is also considered strong and may qualify candidates for MBA admission at other prestigious NMAT-accepting colleges, apart from NMIMS Bangalore and NMIMS Mumbai campuses.
