CUET is a common entrance exam for admissions to both UG & PG courses! Both, CUET (UG) & CUET (PG) are conducted separately by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

CUET is not an entirely new concept or entrance exam for score-based admissions. Before 2022, CUET was known as CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test), and only a handful of 13 central universities participated in it.

CUET (Common University Entrance Test), a brainchild of UGC and MoE, was introduced in the year 2022 to unify the entrance exam and admissions to all the central as well as any other universities who wish to participate in it. Contrary to the popular opinion, that the test is conducted only for UG admissions, CUET is also conducted for PG admissions to various universities across the country.

In the first edition of CUET (UG), a total of 89 universities participated and admitted students based on their CUET scores. The number of participating universities crossed the 250 mark (including 44+ central universities) for CUET(UG) 2024. For CUET (PG) 2024, till now approximately 180 universities (including 53 central universities) have confirmed their participation.

Admissions of the students to all the UG & PG courses of the central universities participating in CUTE will be solely based on the CUET scores. For other participating universities (state, private, & deemed) admission to selected courses will be based on the CUET scores.
