Zakir Husain Delhi College holds one of the most storied pasts of any college affiliated with the University of Delhi. The institution traces its origins to a madrasa established in the closing years of the seventeenth century near Ajmeri Gate, Delhi, making it among the oldest centres of learning in the subcontinent.

In 1825, it became the celebrated Delhi College (also known as "Dilli College"). After closure during and after the 1857 Uprising, Delhi College was eventually re-established and, following Indian independence, was formally rechristened as Zakir Husain Delhi College - named in honour of Dr. Zakir Husain, eminent educationist, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, and the third President of India.

ZHDC UG Courases Offered & Eligibility

ZHDC offers UG programs across Arts, Commerce, and Science streams. Admission to all UG courses is based on CUET UG scores through the DU CSAS portal. The minimum eligibility for all UG programs is a pass in Class 12 from a recognised board, with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) along with a valid CUET UG score.

ZHDC UG Admission Process 2026

ZHDC UG admission 2026 follows the standard University of Delhi CUET-CSAS process. The entire process is online via the NTA CUET portal (cuet.nta.nic.in) and the DU CSAS portal (ugadmission.uod.ac.in). There is no separate interview or college-level registration required.

• Register & appear in CUET UG 2026
  Select the correct subject combination for your target program at ZHDC. Registration for 2026 has closed. The CUET 2026 exam is scheduled from May 11 to May 31, 2026.

• Download CUET UG 2026 Admit Card
  Download from the NTA portal, expected 3-4 days before the exam. Carry a printed copy and a valid photo ID to the exam centre.

• Check CUET UG 2026 Result & Scorecard
  Download the scorecard from the NTA portal after results are declared - expected in the last week of June 2026.

• Register on the DU CSAS Portal
  Visit ugadmission.uod.ac.in. The portal is expected to open in the first week of June 2026. Pay the non-refundable CSAS application fee (250 for UR/OBC/EWS; 100 for SC/ST/PwBD).

• Fill College & Program Preferences
  On the CSAS dashboard, select ZHDC (Morning or Evening) and your desired course in order of priority. You may add multiple courses and colleges as backup preferences.

• Seat Allocation Rounds
  DU releases 3–4 seat allocation rounds. After each round, check your allocation on the CSAS dashboard. If allotted, accept the offer within the specified deadline and pay the admission fee to confirm your seat.

• Document Verification
  Complete document verification online (or in-person as per DU's process for 2026). Your seat is confirmed only after documents are verified and fees are fully paid.

• Commencement of Classes

ZHDC Campus & Facilities

The ZHDC campus is situated at Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, near Ajmeri Gate in Central Delhi - a historically significant location in one of the oldest parts of the city. The campus spans approximately 43 acres and is accessible via public transport and the Delhi Metro.

• Library: A fully air-conditioned library with over 1,15,000 volumes, dedicated reading halls, e-resources, national and international journals, and special provisions for visually and print-disabled students. A Book Bank facility provides free textbook lending to economically weaker students for the full academic year.
• Hostel (Limited Availability): ZHDC does not currently offer its own on-campus hostel for regular UG students. Students typically secure accommodation through nearby Paying Guest (PG) hostels and rental flats in areas such as Laxmi Nagar and the Vishwavidyalaya area, which offer affordable options in proximity.
