IIM Indore launched the unique 5-year Integrated program in Management in 2011, and the course has caught up over the past decade. IIM Indore conducts a separate IPMAT test for admission into this course. Although the IPM course was initiated by IIM, many other universities and colleges have picked up. The 5-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM) is an integration of 3 years of Under-graduation (BBA) with 2 years of Post-graduation (MBA).
After successful completion and placements of all the IPM batches at IIM Indore, the program was introduced by IIM- Rohtak and Nirma University, Ahmedabad at their respective campuses in 2019, and as the years went by, it was eventually launched in several other colleges. The course is a highly sought-after program by young aspirants as it provides them an early entry into an IIM right after class 12.

The IPM Exams generally take place around May every year. The results may be declared at the end of May or in June.
A total of 5 IIMs have started the IPM Program- IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu all offer the IPM Program.
