SSC CGL Tier II 2016 Analysis - December 1, 2016

SSC CGL Tier-II exam for 2016 is scheduled to be conducted on November 30 and December 01, 2016. This year the exam was conducted in a Computer Based Test format.

Detailed Analysis of SSC CGL Tier-II Exam 2016

Paper - I (Quantitative Abilities)

The overall difficulty level and pattern of the paper-I of SSC CGL Tier-II 2016 was almost similar to that of the previous year. The paper saw a mixture of questions from Advanced Math and Arithmetic. The questions from Advance Math section were easy to moderate. Some questions were directly based on formulas. A lot of questions were asked from Mensuration, Geometry and Trigonometry. Questions from mensuration were easy but time consuming. Questions from Arithmetic section were easy to moderate. Percentage and Time & Work questions were a bit tricky and calculation intensive.

A smart approach to the paper could have resulted in good attempt of nearly 81-90 questions. The overall difficulty level of the paper was easy to moderate.

Paper - II (English Language & Comprehension)

The level of this year’s English paper was easy to moderate. The major sections covered were Grammar and Vocabulary. In Vocabulary, questions were asked on Synonyms/Antonyms, One word substitution, wrongly spelt words and Idioms. In Grammar, the usual topics covered were Sentence Improvement, Spot the Error, Sentence Completion, Direct/Indirect Speech and Active/Passive Voice. There were a total of 5 RC passages. The RC passages were easy and the questions were mainly fact based. One passage contained a couple of inference based questions.

A smart approach to the paper could have resulted in good attempt of nearly 171-180 questions. The overall difficulty level of the paper was easy to moderate.
