30 days preparation tips for JIPMAT
30 days preparation tips for JIPMAT
The Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test will be conducted by NTA on May 28, 2023. There will be three sections, with 33, 33, and 34 questions in QA, DILR, and VARC respectively. The test duration is 2.5 hours. Find below some preparation tips:
- Attempt questions selectively: Due to negative marking being a part of the marking scheme, make sure to be careful while marking your answers. Start from the questions you are most confident about, and as you reach closer to the end, use the elimination method for questions you are unsure of.
- Know sectional cut-offs: In JIPMAT, the number of attempts for QA, LRDI, and VARC is 27+, 28+, and 28+ respectively. With your preparation, ensure that you are sure about your answers to these many questions at least. Overall, your target should be a total of 340+.
- Make sure to take mocks before the test: In the last week, attempt at least 3-4 mocks if you haven't already. This will help you get used to the paper pattern, and give a simulation of the actual test. Attempt mocks here to test your readiness. This not only makes you accustomed to the test but also helps with personalized test-taking strategies provided by our mocks.
- Improve your reading and calculation skills: Quick reading and faster calculations are a must for JIPMAT. Read books, newspapers, and articles. Before the exam, make sure to revise your formulas and conceptual questions for every section. Also, make sure to read for at least an hour every day to work on your comprehension skills.
- Build your strategy: If you find yourself well prepared with the syllabus, make sure to work on how you will be managing time during the exam. Knowing which topics to attempt first, speed-reading, and allocating time between different sections are all strategies used by toppers.
- Exam Day essentials: In addition to preparations, bring your best to the test venue as well. Sleep well and stay hydrated, eat before the test, carry your admit card, personal ID (full DOB mentioned), be on time.
