CUET 2023 Exam Analysis - (8th June)
Section I: Language
English
On day 17, the English paper, according to the students, was easy in difficulty level. The questions were straightforward and easy. Interestingly, there were many similar questions with the Career Launcher mocks.
There were 3 extracts given for Reading Comprehension, and all 3 were passages. 5 questions each were asked from the passages (there were 15 questions in total). Other major topics from where questions came were -
- Idioms and Phrases: Match the following (5-6 questions)
- Active-passive: Identification of active and passive phrases (4 questions)
- Foreign words: Modus Operandi, Defacto (3-4 questions)
- Para jumbles: 3-4 questions
- Letter-based: Situation wise subject was asked (3 questions)
- Synonym & Anonym: 2-3 questions
- Modal verb: 2-3 questions
- Spelling Error: Conservatory (1-2 questions)
- Sentence Correction: 2 questions
- Indirect speech: Converting (1-2 questions)
Section II: Domain subjects
Commerce
Economics
The Economics exam on Day 17 was rated as easy to moderate by most of the test takers in difficulty level. According to the students, the questions were straightforward and from the NCERT book. Questions from various topics were as follows:
- Consumer Behavior and Demand: Utility concept case study - Single commodity case, Monotonic preference(6-7 questions)
- Introductory Microeconomics: Production possibility curve(Out of syllabus) (2 questions)
Macroeconomics
- Balance Of Payments: Current and capital account component, BOP surplus and deficit, autonomous and accommodating transactions, foreign exchange(demand and supply), Devaluation and depreciation (4-5 questions)
- Government Budget and the Economy: Revenue and capital receipts, Revenue expenditure and capital expenditure, Government objectives (3-4 questions)
- Determination of Income And Employment: 2 numerical, inflationary gap (3-4 questions)
- National Income: National Income formula matches the following(decent level), Incorrect and correct statement formula based, Precautions questions (3-4 questions)
- Money and Banking: Money supply(1), Bank functions(1) (2-3 questions)
Indian Economic Development
- Rural Development: Rural Development - NABARD(2 QUestions), Self-help group question, Sirisla tragedy (4-5 questions)
- Indian Economy 1950-1990: Industrial policy resolution(1956), match the following - Small scale industries (2-3 questions)
- Infrastructure: Social and Economic infrastructure (2-3 questions)
- Development experiences of India - A comparison with neighbors: Chronological order, incorrect and correct statement (2-3 questions)
- Indian Economy on the Eve of Independence: Chronological order (1-2 questions)
- Economic Reforms since 1991: Outsourcing Benefit (1-2 questions)

Section III: General Test
The students rated the General Test experience to be easier to moderate on Day 17. Questions were based on topics such as Mathematics & Statistics, General Awareness, Discovery & Invention, Logic & Reasoning, and Sports. The GT paper was very similar to Career Launcher Mocks with questions from -
General Awareness
- Geography: 1-2 questions
- Science: Tungsten experiment, Formic acid, Speed of light, frequency and wavelength relation - (4-5 questions)
- Sports: 2-3 questions
- History: India Independence -Swaraj movement, and pacts (3-4 questions)
- Books and Authors: The experiment with truth(1-2 questions)
- Important Personalities: Tenure of Important person (1-2 questions)
- Economics: Directly from NCERT (2-3 questions)
Numerical Ability
- Ratio and Proportion: 15:45 12 is to what (2-3 questions)
- Mixtures and Allegations: 1-2 questions
- CI and SI: 2 compound interest, 1 Simple interest (3 questions)
- AP & GP: Asked about AP and GP properties (2 questions)
- Number System: Find the mean of prime numbers from 1 to 40 (2-3 questions)

- Time, Speed, and Distance: Started at 10 o'clock .. relative speed (2-3 questions)
- Area & Volume: Triangle-related area, Volume (melting) (5-6 questions)
- Trigo Related: Simple formula asked (1-2 questions)
- Algebra: Power-raised questions (1-2 questions)
- Time and Work: 1 man, 1 woman, and 1 child type question (3-4 questions)
Logical Reasoning
- Series & Coding: Alphabetical series questions were mostly there (5-6 questions)
- Puzzles: Alphabetical series questions were mostly there Arrangement (2 questions)
- Clocks: Angle related (1-2 questions)
- Calendars: 1996 Republic Day was on this day. When will it fall on the other day? - 1 question
- Blood Relations: 1-2 questions
- Visual Reasoning: Water image (1-2 questions)
Overall the student’s Day 17 exam experience has been more or less easy to moderate only. Students are advised to continue their preparation as you never know how the next day or shift is going to be.
