When should you start taking mock tests for IPMAT?

IPMAT Rohtak, JIPMAT, and IPMAT Indore 2024 are held in the months of May-June in that order. This gives us 11 months of preparation time. This may look like more than sufficient time, but with boards and other upcoming entrance tests, you shouldn’t put it off. 

The reality is that it is never too soon to start taking IPMAT mock tests. Since the paper pattern and syllabus for IPMAT Indore, IPMAT Rohtak, and JIPMAT are different, you must be aware of the differences and simulations of each of these papers. One should simultaneously be giving mock tests while preparing for the IPMAT. Taking IPMAT mocks offer numerous advantages, if used wisely. 

It is recommended to integrate mock tests to your study plan. Some of the benefits of following such a study plan of giving mocks alongside self-study include:

1. Benchmarking performance: All other aspirants from across India will be taking the test. This helps in understanding where you stand against them, and plan your preparation accordingly. 
2. Creating effective plans: Mock tests include analysis tools which help you understand your strengths and weaknesses for every section. In addition to this, you may also receive personalized strategies to improve your test-taking time and accuracy. 
3. Different IPMAT tests: It is difficult to remember what each of the three IPMAT tests will comprise if you aren’t hands on with the paper structure in advance. Take these specialized tests to familiarize yourself with all topics and sections involved, as well as stimulate yourself to the test-taking environment. 
4. Time management: All the three IPM entrance tests are timed. In addition, there is negative marking. Every student must decide which topics are their strengths areas, and which topics they must avoid in the exam. In this, they will also be able to manage time. 
5. Elimination method: Assessing and changing your test-taking approach depending on the certainty of answering is a must. You may not know the answer to a few questions, but before leaving it, make sure to gauge all other options to check whether one of them looks the most suitable. This is one of the most trusted techniques.
