Significance of the IPMAT Exams

The straightforward significance of the Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is that it is the entry point for the IPM course in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

In this section, we cover the multifaceted impacts on an individual's academic, professional, and personal development by taking these exams.

Early Career Start

IPM gets you into the business world earlier than traditional post-graduation programs, giving you a head start in your career.

Bag Top Degrees

IPM is a way to get respected MBA and BBA, or BA degrees from top-notch IIMs, leaving a good mark on your overall profile.

Easier Entrance

Getting into IIMs via the IPMAT exam is simpler compared to other tough exams like CAT, as the competition is much lower for IPMAT, making it more accessible for aspiring students.

Great Job Opportunities

IPM grads land excellent jobs, similar to those with an MBA from the best business schools. In 2024, IIM Indore's IPM grads got jobs with an average salary of Rs 25.06 LPA and the highest at Rs 100 LPA.

Beyond Books

Thanks to the integrated curriculum, IPM students get access to ground-level and on-the-job learning, making students more aware of the world around them.

All-Around Development

As future managers, IPM focuses on developing your personality and skills holistically to prepare students for a successful and well-rounded career.

Stand Out Professionally

There are hardly 700+ seats via the IPM degree at IIMs, so students taking up this degree will naturally stand out professionally.

Less Competition

The IPM course has fewer people applying, which increases a student's chances of getting in compared to other exams with a lot more applicants.

Useful Connections

Being part of IIMs gives students great chances to make connections and network with professionals and other students, helping students in their career journey for a lifetime.

After-Steps of Taking IPMAT Exams

Getting into the IPM program has multiple steps apart from taking the IPMAT exams. These steps are equally important for entry into the prestigious IIMs.

So students must take notice of the after steps of successfully taking an IPMAT exam, so they can successfully convert the good score into an IIM.

Below are the steps students need to undertake for them to be able to successfully get into the IPM course offered by IIMs.

Step 1: Taking the IPMAT Exams

The IIMs and NTA generally release the scores within one to one and a half months of the entrance exam. Consequently, the IIMs and other B-schools accepting the IPMAT score release the cutoff list just after that.

Step 2: Personal Assessment

Although every IIM has its different selection process, generically, the selected candidates face a Personal Assessment round. This is like an interview where they learn more about students.

Step 3: Final Selection

Days after the first round of interviews, the colleges disclose a merit list based on a Composite Score. This score considers your performance in the Aptitude Test and the Personal Assessment.
