Do the marks of class 12
affect the result of the CUET?

No, there is no direct
relation/connection between class 12 (Boards) marks and your CUET result. CUET
result is generated autonomously considering the performance of any student in
the CUET (Common University Entrance Test). UG admissions to 250+ participating
universities (and their constituent colleges) will be done on the basis of CUET
score only and not your Board marks.

However, to be eligible
for CUET, you need to have a minimum aggregate of 50% (a relaxation of 5% is
given to the SC/ST category students) in your class 12 exams. Your class 12
marks are not taken into consideration beyond meeting the minimum requirement.
The most crucial factor for CUET admission is your CUET score. However, for
admission to universities like DU, your 12th Board marks will be considered
only if there is a tie between two candidates opting for the same course and
college. Board marks will be the decider in such cases. Firstly best of 3, then
the best of 4 & 5 will be considered subsequently. If there is even a tie,
then the age will become the qualifying factor and the older student will get
admission.

This was the case
earlier (Dependence on class 12 Board marks for UG admission) when admission to
Central Universities (like the University of Delhi, BHU, JNU, etc.) were
merit-based. A seat in any of the top colleges was getting out of reach for
many aspiring students. Because, there was no uniformity among the various
Board examinations regarding syllabus, level of difficulty, and marking scheme.
Students from some of the boards got an undue advantage. Hence, Common
University Entrance Test (CUET) was introduced in 2022, to solve this problem
of ever-rising cut-offs and give all the candidates equal and fair chances of
admission to UG to their dream colleges, irrespective of the board they passed
out from and their class 12 score.

So now all you need to
do is to focus on your CUET preparation and score well to get admission to your
dream college and pursue your graduation with your desired course.
