The University of Allahabad has officially notified that all UG admissions for the academic session 2026-27, including those in its constituent colleges, will be conducted exclusively through CUET (UG) 2026. The official notice was issued with reference to the University of Allahabad Act 2005 and in strict compliance with UGC/MoE directions.

• CUET UG (2026) registration was open from January 3 to February 26, 2026, and is now closed. The exam is tentatively scheduled from May 11 to May 31, 2026.
• A critical change for 2026: In addition to the compulsory Language (English/Hindi) and General Aptitude Test, only ONE domain subject will now be considered for merit preparation for each program. This is a significant update from previous years.
• All UG programs at the University of Allahabad are now offered under the 4-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) framework as per NEP 2020.

Allahabad University UG Admission Process 2026

The University of Allahabad UG admission 2026 is a two-stage process - CUET UG 2026 followed by University-level counselling through the CSAS portal. The step-by-step process is outlined below:

• Register for CUET UG 2026 on the official NTA portal (cuet.nta.nic.in). Select 'University of Allahabad' as a preferred university. Choose the domain subjects strictly as per the program-specific requirement (Table 1 above).

Allahabad University UG Admission 2026: Reservation Policy

The University of Allahabad, being a central university, follows the Government of India reservation policy for all UG admissions, as mandated under Section 9 of the University of Allahabad Act 2005. The category-wise reservation details are as follows:

Key points regarding Allahabad University's reservation policy:

• ST category seats that remain vacant due to the non-availability of eligible candidates will be filled by SC category candidates.
• The 5% PwBD reservation is distributed as: 1% each for (a) Blindness and low vision, (b) Deaf and hard of hearing, (c) Locomotor disability (including cerebral palsy, leprosy-cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, muscular dystrophy), (d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness, and (e) Multiple disabilities.
• Kashmiri Migrants: Weightage as per the Government of India guidelines will be given to Kashmiri Migrants. Candidates must present a certificate from an officer of the Ministry of Education not below the rank of Joint Secretary.
